Bama Tune doing its job!!

So here is a little comparison between stock and the Bama tune... Car has 2.73 gears and is automatic. Feel it could have ran better if had more favorable whether conditions and was spinning so much (stock wheels and tires can't handle the added power off the line)

Nice! I kinda wished I tracked my car before tuning it to see the difference, I guess I could set it back to stock still :p.

I know what you mean with the wheel spin though my car always wants to spin the tires. I have 3.31s with stock MCA wheels.

Want to help with that wheel hop get some LCAs! Ford Racing's LCAs helped mine a ton (it still does a little but not near as bad 😜)

Interesting to pick up 4/10ths and only 1 mph. Tells you a lot of that comes from tuning that auto to shift quicker rather than real hp gains. Get you an MPT tune and really see that mph go up

Definitely! That being said I don't know what it would have ran if I was was not spinning or wheel hopping... Plus we had a REALLY bad head wind coming at us so think that could have effected trap speed alittle?

Here's a run with alittle Click image for larger version

Major

It was on the Bama Race tune... Once I actually get more mods for my car I'll probably switch over to MPT for a race tune and just daily on the Bama performance tune

A head wind will most definitely affect trap speed. How were you launching? Just flooring it off idle or were you trying to stage it a little (gas and brake at the same time)?

I was launching at about 1,500... Tried 2,000 like when I was stock but with the tune it just blue the tires off...

I just need bigger wheels then these stock 17's.... Do you think a staggered 19's would hurt the time? Or should I just go staggered 18's?

Depends on weight and how serious you are about getting that time down vs aesthetics as to whether you should pick 18s or 19s.

What do you think the difference in time would be between 18's and 19's? Cause I'm hooked on going to the track every week so if it hurts my time to bad id rather go with the one that performs better vs looks better

Well like i said, it depends on weight. If you have an 18 thats 30 lbs a wheel or a 19 thats 21 lbs a wheel, the 19 will likely outperform the 18. Granted you still have to factor in the 18 will have more sidewall if you run the same height on both and that will (should) lead to a better launch with the right tire.

There's a lot that goes into it, its hard to just say one is better than the other.

Track every week?! Whew that's a lot of $$$

I went back to back weekends and now my tires are missing 40% tread and my clutch is murdered. But I know the feeling of the drag strip... such a rush.

18 runs the first night, 14 runs the second night; each night was at the track for roughly 4 hours. Running 275/35/20 M/T Street Comps with 4.10s @ roughly 400whp. I really beat the **** out of my car those nights, as it was my first time down at the strip... The strip is also untreated, so there's a lot of spinning going on. Was also doing light burnouts in the water box.

Reaction time is where the pickup is coming from.

RTs do not affect ETs, unless you are heads up racing. You could react 5 seconds slower than your lane opponent but still have a faster ET down the track.

Ya what he said... My fastest time stock was only me running so was not going for reaction time.

Looks like the majority of the increase is from the 60' time. The MPH is an indicator of the car's power. You picked up 1mph.

Like I said before traction and a really strong head wind coming at us most likely effected my trap speed

Was that without headwind? If so, maybe that headwind was creating forced induction! Lol kidding... but Voltwings is here and he'd be one of the guys to help answer that.

Hello

So you spent $600 plus dollars to go less than a 1/2 second faster in a 1/4 mile?
