2013 Mustang V6 "Premium" - 6th Cylinder Misfire, Et Al

Hi,

Hoping for some help. Below is what i'm experiencing.

Car Info: 2013, V6 Premium, 65K miles.

Issues:
Last December the CEL came on and I took it to Autozone and the code was for a 6th cylinder misfire.

Took it to a mechanic to fix and they said that the 6th cylinder was not misfiring and that the spark plugs were fine. Nothing for them to fix.

CEL came on again as I was accelerating onto the highway and it was flashing on and off. Additionally a sulfur smell appeared. As I got off the highway the CEL quit flashing and was just on. while idling at the light the car was shaky and stuttery and it eventually stopped that.

Again, took to AZ to see what the CEL was and again a 6th cylinder misfire. about a week later the CEL light was off so I assumed it was the same old "fake" 6th cylinder misfire....

Now i'm definitely feeling the lack of power, it struggles and feels sluggish when going over 55MPH.....transmission issues?????

Thanks for any insight.

Had that in my old vvt caddy... Exact same symptoms. Mine was a bad coil. Do not drive it anymore than you have to until it gets fixed and when you do have to drive it, do it in granny mode.

Good luck!

Oh, and find a new mechanic. Nothing "fake" about misfires.

Yep, move the #6 coil to a different cylinder and see if the misfire follows. If it does, replace it.

And if it is a coil, buy your replacement coul yourself. A shop will mark it up and prob use some cheap crap. I learned that the hard way.
