Fixed. The 3.7 is pretty fun though.

You did good. The V/8 owners will never be happy with their cars.

I got mine because it was 10k cheaper than the v8 and it had enough horses for me. The only real thing I would've preferred the v8 for is the sound, but that wasn't worth the 10k to me. Love my Mustang

Why do some v6 owners say they can afford v8's but they get v6's because of gas mileage and insurance?

Because some of those V6 owners might what to put their kids through a better college or have them play sports all year around. I'd take my 3.7 all day long over any V8 so I could put my family and kids first without any financial hesitation.
I could afford a Gt no problem but I enjoy my family 10 fold over 2 extra cylinders. It's also nice to be able to take them to the Caribbean twice a year.
Not sure why some V8 guys always think it's a money thing and not just a choice.
305 hp is plenty from the factory.

^here we go again.

Not to be a dick, but seriously read what you wrote and tell me 90% of what you said was because you don't want to spend the money. If you need to get a V6 to be able to "put your family first" then yeah by all means, you should not be buying a car that is 7 k more. Sounds like you are strapped.

My son will go to collage if he wants, and my family will go on vacations wherever we want. I can't see how 50-100 bucks a month really effects that. Seems a bit dramatic if you ask me.

But that's what I mean. For example, you're choosing to put your family first which is fantastic, but I think your saying you can't afford to do both so you got a v6 because your family was your first priority.

I just don't understand why people can't just say that instead of saying they can afford to get a v8 but chose a v6 for various reasons. The only logical reason to buy a v6 in my mind is to save money. Which I have done before. I just don't get the ego complex where people can't just say that. Like the guys that say they got a v6 because they eventually want to compound turbo it ect...

V6 is just plain better then a V8

Stop arguing,
V8 or V6 or even the new inline 4 are all good engines,
I personally like the 3.7 V6 because it is just a way better engine then the other two.
The V6 sounds better, is faster, Has better MPG, then the V8 or I-4
Hooked to an automatic transmission and a 2.73 economy differential, This combination can't be beat.
There is really nothing to argue about,
The 3.7 V6 Cyclone engine is the best engine in the whole wide world.
And I have one.

Hi Fast Ford,
Sometimes I just can't help myself.
My problem is I like all Mustangs no matter what engine they have.
I hope they know I'm just joking and not really serious.
Ronnie

PS: Are you going to be going the the American Muscle Show next month?

You can still come and park in the spectators lot, There are a lot of Mustangs that park in that lot and walk in.
If you decide to go, PM me and I'' give you my cell # and we can get together,
It is one huge event and nice because it is only Mustangs and nothing else.
A lot of the people on this forum got together last year and drove in together.
Ronnie

I personally got my 3.7 because being on public welfare it was a nice comfortable payment. Being on welfare really puts a damper on things but at least I have tax payers paying for a Mustang. So thanks all you working class sap's.

Why did you buy your v6 instead of a v8?

I have a V6 instead of a V8, because my parents hate me ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ˜ช
...it was my dads idea to buy my Stang, & he would only pay half!! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ
...nice guy, huh??

50 to 60 bucks a month isn't much at allI, hell I spend that probably a month in electricity on my heated pool alone. It's not the "I cant afford a V8," for me there is no need for a V8. If I was a weekend track guy I would/could have picked up a GT, but I'm just a daily that loves what he has with no need for 2 more cylinders.
I absolutely laugh at some V8 guys thinking the V6 crowd is just poor and must be the only reason why they got their 3.7s, sure there might be some people that that's all they can afford and there is nothing wrong with that.
This topic has been beaten to death already, really just get over yourselves, not everyone's penis is as small as yours.๐Ÿ˜†
And you do sound like a dick... jk it's all good.
BTW you comment "Don't want to spend the money" is a more accurate assumption then the "strapped for cash" comment.

I 100% agree with you. I have a house in CT, a vacation house in FL, and 2 condos that I rent out, a 2014 Escape, and a 2013 V/6 Mustang, a 1986 Merkur Xr4TI that won first place in Carlisle this past June. I could of bought any type of Mustang, but I wanted the V/6 with the Performance Package, 6 spd manual because it handles so well and is a real sleeper. V/8 owners just want to make us look poor, but we can afford to get what ever we want, and Someone will always have a faster V/8, and who cares.

My Mustytang is my DD, & since i'm a poor nurse intern, & i work 12-hour shift, & only get paid for the 4 hours that I work in the pharmacy, a V8 would break my fat butt pretty quickly, i bet.
i tell my dad i will buy a new v8 if he buys the gas, but he won't even listen ๐Ÿ˜”
"You don't need a V8 gas-hog blah blah... "
my dad has a v8 stang, but he won't let me get one ๐Ÿ™„

I also kinda impulsively bought the stang too. I found it in April 14, as a used 2014 with 6k miles. I was like damn, good deal. so i checked it out, talked down price a bit, and said f it and just bought it. I didn't need a new car. I had an 01 Frontier that was perfectly fine. I just decided hey why not buy my first new car? my 2 pickups before that were hand-me-downs so i wanted to get my own car finally. i wasn't there debating between v6 and v8. they had a nice v6, i drove it and liked it, and i still like it.
the trick here is that I've never in my life driven a v8 Mustang. sure, I've been a passenger in a 90 foxbody 5.0 and an 04 gt, but I've never driven one. so technically, idk what I'm missing! haha

Don't do it until you're ready to buy. I test drove mine on a whim just because it fit what I was looking for, and bam! Came back the next day and bought it.

Well sending your kids to a better college is a waste of money at least where I live. We are overpopulated with college schmucks who can't find jobs and we have a severe shortage of skilled blue collar service workers. Licensed Plumbers, Electricians, HVAC, and Elevator technicians make as much if not more than people with College Degrees.

I get it. Hopefully someday you get off welfare. I can definitely understand your circumstance though. Keep saving and someday you might be in a gt some day. Good luck!

Real sleeper huh?
