The 4.6 is good for someone who wants a GT/V8 but cannot afford or get approved for a 5.0. Kinda like that next small step towards a new GT.

Older v6 > 3.7 > 4.6 > 5.0 > and maybe a shelby one day

That's about the way I see it too.

The 4.6 3v is still a good torquey little engine. A lot of people overlook that and just look at hp numbers.

How is it again? Torque wins races? All horsepower does is help a car maintain the speed/power?

I think the 05-09 is still a muscular look with a few cosmetics. No hate here on either side. But if I was given the choice of these two, It would be the 2006 GT for sure.

Has anyone gone from a 3.7 to a 3v 4.6?

Or if they like the older body styles more than the newer ones.

Big question is, if you don't mind me asking is how much does he want for it? I know he's family and hopefully is cutting you a deal but don't pay more than its worth no matter how nice it is. And on the outside it is pretty damn good looking.

Very good question, price should definitely play a factor. Hopefully he gets the friends and family discount.

but...it's a V8 AND it is a manual. Ditching those nagging questions will probably be worth it for him. As far as mental health.

Yeah, I think that is what's going to happen. I'll miss my 14 V6, but not enough to pass up the GT. If that does happen I'll need to find an active 4.6 forum (I don't post much here, but am here reading regularly) as the 4.6 section doesn't look to lively here.

Well, it is still in the s197 catagory. So if you have any questions when you get it, i can take a peek if its nothing too out if the ordinary.

That's BS or coming from another 3.7 owner the 4.6 is much more satisfying to drive. Especially with a nice exhaust. The 3.7 sounds horrible with a loud exhaust.

Believe he meant the sound of a V8 and the torque. Hence more satisfying.

I'm just saying a 4.6 is to me a step up above a 3.7. They sound great make good torque, and you can get decent power out of them. I understand why people buy V6's I had to when I was younger. One 3.7 I wouldn't mind having is the MCA edition they are kind of rare.

I don't think I've seen one in person. I have been looking lately. If I saw one before I think I just assumed it to be a GT/CS. How many were produced each year? Someone told me in 2012 there were less than 2500

So I'm filling out the paperwork tomorrow for the 06 GT. I'll stick around on the forums here as well with the 3v. I just would also like to find a more lively 3v forum too. Here are some group pictures I took at my parents house yesterday as well

Nice. Time to part out the 3.7. I wonder how your 3.7 wheels will look on the 2006.

I don't think I'm going to keep the black wheels, I like the blue stripes on the GT and I think I'm going to go with a dark grey wheel

That would be nice. Well, part out and sell. It will give you a nice little chunk to start adding stuff to the 2006.
