I decided I'm going with Magnaflow over flowmaster for my custom gt500 quad tip exhaust. I'm stuck between 2 mufflers a xl series 13216 or a mf Preformance straight through 12226. How do each of these sound and what is everyone's opinion on the best sound? The flowmasters have sort of a tin can sound on these 3.7 cars and I don't want that. Or if someone has a suggestion on muffler.

I have noticed people are starting to go with Magnaflow over Flowmasters. Must be something to do with 4 valves vs three and two valves. I don't know for sure. I love my Magnaflows

Check out Borla as well. I went to several local Cars & Coffee's and almost all the Mustang owners were happy to let me listen to their exhausts. Just like speakers, sound is subjective and it really comes down to your personal preferences. Magnaflow, Flowmaster, and Borla are all very good manufactures. I was looking at all of them until I settled on the Borla S-Types.
