That looks good but I noticed that you still have the defective degas hose on your radiator bottle. You should get the one with the backflow valve ASAP or risk premature water pump failure. It is worth the $20.

It's not the front hose, to the best of my knowledge. It's the overflow hose(ER3Z-8276-A) that runs between the thermostat housing and the degass bottle (overflow tank).
This was discussed back in this thread...

Here's another view of it with reference to the Fords OEM Parts diagram.

Does anyone have one of these as well as a tuner and wouldnt mind doing some datalogging for us?

Measure the MAF flow with the factory inlet tube, then measure the MAF flow with the MIT and compare. Unless of course this is purely a cosmetic mod, then do as you see fit.

I'm glad I could help. The worst part is that some owners that have had water pump failures were told that the pump wasn't covered because the defective hose was the cause of the failure and that was not covered by the 5 year warranty! It is easy to tell if you have the updated hose because it drops down right after it leaves the tank instead of going straight out like your does.

found the link. so i can see in my pic it comes straight out from the resovoir, but the updated version like in the pic drops down like said above. ok, so i think i'll order it if it's going to save me money.

simple to put on i assume? any issues with opening up the system and getting air into it or anything? not sure how it all works, but apparently air in the system is what causedd it to fail in the first place

The new hose goes on easily. Do it when the engine is cold and you shouldn't lose any coolant. The new hose has a backflow valve that prevents air in the tank from entering the system. It is called a degas hose so its job is to remove air which is ironic considering that without the valve it is blamed for causing pump failures from air bubbles.

The Airaid website says it will increases the cfm to 400 over the stock tube but i bought for the looks only and not expecting any real hp gains from it.

Pretty sure when they say, "...can improve airflow up to 400 CFM over the restrictive stock intake tube" it simply means that it is capable of flowing up to that much more capacity at a given pressure loss. Or another way to say it would be that at the same flow it(the airaid tube) would have less pressure loss. It's not saying it WILL BE flowing that much air.

I know its fluffy wording, but still... its a ridiculous thing to say because it has no practical meaning whatsoever.

I have a mpt tune on mine so it's hard to really tell but with the airflow more of a straight shot with the tube it should make a bit of a differance ...going to open a can of worms now

Did it make your engine bay louder?

Also, where is the cheapest place I can get the differential vent?
