Vibrant resonator vs Magnaflow glasspack

Which one would better offset the rasp and ricey sound that comes with bbk lt headers, o/r x pipe, and roush axlebacks? I don't want the car to get noticeably quieter, but better. Magnaflow glasspacks, item 18125, or Vibrant, not sure what size though. Currently have roush, bbk just ordered.

i've had vibrant resonators in 3 of my cars now. Cant speak for the magnaflow, but the vibrant do produce a nice, smooth sound.

What size were they? Did it lower the volume a lot or just a little?

On my GT and turbo 4 cylinder i've used the 3" x ... gah it was like 14" or 16"? I cant remember now, but one of the shorter ones they sell, may have even been 18" but i cant remember. My GT i just replaced the factory 2.5" resonators with the 3" and it smoothed the sound out a TON, not really quieter, but just made it a nicer tone.

On my turbo 4 i was straight piped except 1 3" vibrant resonator and i would have shot myself in the face if i had to drive that car without the resonator haha it was a life saver. In that case it not only made it a smoother and more manageable sound, but definitely toned it down a bit as well.

So the stock resonators aren't the best then I assume. Also if I were to get resonators longer than my stock ones, would there be any cutting involved besides removing the stock ones?

i think the stock resonators are just too small. On my GT i kept getting this buffeting sound under throttle, almost like helicopter blades slicing the air. My guess was that the air was backing up and then pushing through the resonator giving the "whomp whomp whomp" sound. After going to larger ones, the "problem" was fixed, so i guess i was right?

The ones on the v6 are incredibly tiny, but since they're immediately after the cats in the stock location, i dont know that there's room to really cut and weld... what we did when we added our catless H-pipe was just weld a set of resonators into the over axle pipes. There's also room in the aftermarket H-pipe to add resonators as well if you wish.

Sweet, thanks for that. Getting resonators, should I got with 2.5in diameter, or stock pipe diameter, 2.25in?
