Aftermarket Exhaust plus Electronic Cutouts

I have a 2014 V6 and I plan on putting either a Roush or Borla exhaust on it and was wondering how adding electric cutouts would affect the sound. Would having the cutouts closed mean I'm only hearing the aftermarket exhaust and when the cutouts are open I hear a louder, deeper sound? Would the cutouts compliment the exhaust sound or make it too loud or sound bad? Im still deciding if I want a aftermarket exhaust, electronic cutouts or both but Im not too sure about what each of those 3 will sound like. I want a nice deep tone when the cutouts are closed and more of a louder (not too loud) roar when they're open. The beauty of the electric cutouts is you can change the sound on the fly. Please give me some input and your opinions.

Your going to hear the exhaust through the mufflers when the cutout is closed and your going to hear straight pipes when the cutouts are opened.

I've never dealt with electric cutouts but doubt they last. It is an extremely harsh environment for moving parts.

it'll be loud when opened and i doubt it'll be good loud

I agree with Mud. You have to buy 2 of them for around $180 each. Its going to sound like crap

I've had them on one of my cars. I don't recommend them at all.

Why not? too loud or just sound bad? Im looking more into them now, didnt realize its basically a controllable muffler delete. Might just go with an exhaust and call it a day.

Aftermarket Exhaust plus Electronic Cutouts

I could never get it to seal properly after numerous attempts. So, when they were closed it sounded like I had an exhaust leak. In my opinion, cutouts only sound good with upgraded Cam(s). And yes it's loud.

All I might suggest is to contact Kindigit custom cars in Salt Lake City. They install a lot of them on their custom cars and might suggest a good brand for you. Never heard of any of their cars having trouble with them.

My 2cents

Check your local laws. Those things are illegal in a lot of places. That don't stop people, but, they won't pass inspection where I'm at.

Boss 302 side pipes with

Exhaust cut outs after x pipe on my 2015 gt with Magnaflow from there back and a small toggle switch inside the car works great that way it "mixes" the two systems It sounds great. You can go from just the Magnaflo to any mixture of the side pipes and the cutouts last I've have them on one of my other cars for over 15 years. I love it
