2014 v6 Next Exhaust Upgrade

1. I've already installed Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle Backs and was wondering what the next step I should do.

2. I've listened to both the FORD RACING CUT AND CLAMP X-PIPE & BBK OFF-ROAD X-PIPE. Although none of the videos I watched had the Pype Bombs so I have no idea how it would sound with my current setup. If anyone has a suggestion on which would best fit my exhaust or another setup it would be appreciated. Or a H pipe if possible?

3. I don't want it too loud that even when I'm driving normal it's just asking to get pulled over. Yet I want it to sound noticeably different. Currently my car has a noticeable but subtle noise and gets loud when I punch the gas pedal.

4. CAI possible option if it actually changes the sound?

5. I'm looking for something loud that isn't obnoxious sounding for a v6 mustang.

6. Keep in mind I don't have a ton of money to blow out the window currently due to paying for college.

7. I'm a newbie to mustangs so i'm looking for a tailored suggestion to what my next couple steps should be that would fit my current axle backs.

Thanks!

(P.S. My vehicle is a daily driver if it matters.)

X pipe + any muffler deletes will make the car raspy and ricey.

Stick with an H pipe and keep the over axle resonators. If you get a CAI, get one that you need a tune otherwise it's just adding noise.

Do you think a local exhaust focused shop could fab a H pipe for less. Or should I just stick online? Not exactly sure what an exhaust shop can do.

Our resonators are right after the cats. We don't have any resonators in our over axle pipes.

And regardless of the CAI needing or not needing a tune, it's just there to add noise. No gains.

we have resonators? I didnt know that. then howcome the 15 v6 exhaust note is so different? someone told me it's bc the new setup has resonators, but now apparently I'm learning we do too.

I believe its the way the rear section of 2015s exhaust is routed with the irs. The 03-04 cobras have a somewhat different note than a 03-04 mach 1.

Yes we have resonators. They are right past the cats. This is from a 2012, but I imagine the exhaust is the same from 11-14.

The '15 & '16's V6 have a single large resonator(suitcase) which also serves to combine the 2 exhaust banks in lieu of the hybrid X-pipes.
Apparently many are replacing it with an X-pipe.

Looks like this...

X-Pipe

I have 2014 V6 w/Perf Pkg w/a Rousch Axle Back (Mufflers). Car sounded Beautiful! Low RPM's, very nice rumble. It was also quite loud if you stepped on it, which i enjoy!
I then put on a BBK X-Pipe w/High Flow CATS. It went from loud to HOLY COW! I do Autocross, and even the guys who have been doing it for years expressed it was quite loud and 'Ricy' as they say. I am even thinking of removing them, and going back to stock H-Pipe w/Resonators just to get that low rumble back. I also have the BBK throttle body and K&N CAI. But listen to these guys on the forum. They know what they are talking about!

i thought the atak's alone sounded pretty ricey in the mid rpm range..main reason why i just went for the tourings.

i can't even imagine an H pipe or long tubes with the ataks...good god.

I'm putting an x-pipe on mine next week. I have magnaflow street axle backs and am hoping to hell that it doesn't make the pitch to high. The reason I'm going x-pipe is for more high band power. I figure with shorties next on my list it will even out the tone if the x makes it to ricey.

Either way, I figure the x is only $168 so if it doesn't work out then I won't be too broken up.
