Unhappy Stupid Question

So i have a few stupid questions.

1. Would 245/45R17, 275/40R17 wheels fit on the base 2013 mustang?
2. If so would i have to update my tune to accommodate the speed differences?

Sorry for the stupid questions would love some help

The stock 17" is only 7" wide so the 275 would be a bad idea, also yes you would need a tune for the diff tire sizes

I 'think' 235 is the widest you should try, even that might be pushing it

I'm rocking some 235/55/17 Fallen ziex's for almost 2years with zero issues(on factory 17's), really want some 255's but gotta save up for some wheels too. I wouldn't risk anything over 235s

I'm running 255/45-18 tires on my factory 8 inch wide wheels. I'm feeling too much tire roll when i go hard into a turn. I hate that feeling. I love my wheels and will probably go back to the factory size tires of 235/50-18 when these wear out. You really need at least a 8 1/2 inch wide wheel to run 2.55 tires.

No, I'd save up for even a cheapo set of wheels, loads to choose from and you can keep your current set for the winter.

Your tuner should do this for free, it's honestly a minor revision and I've never been charged to correct my speedo. I'd keep the old files someplace safe, for when you go back to stock.
