Moving on to a new Mustang

Hello

The 2011 MCA Convertible is going bye bye on Saturday.
The brand new 2015 Premium Ecoboost Roush performance package with 4 miles.

Yes I got a great price for the deal.

I will be moving to the Ecoboost thread.

Beautiful!!! From what little i know about the ecoboost, You might need to look into buying a 'catch can' (oil separator) for it.

Hello

I rented two Ecoboost Mustangs in the last 6 months and I was very impressed with both.

This new Mustang will get the TLC touch as it will be my weekender, garage kept and never driven in the rain. Maybe 4 to 6K in mileage every year.

What happens to the car if it gets rained on? I see this comment a lot but it just doesn't make sense to me

Im guessing underbody dirt and exposure to rust causing elements?

That eco stang is the nicest looking Ive seen yet. Any chance you would share the deal you got?

True, got to watch that rust. Hate that. Don't want to wash the car either. Hate that water touching the car

Hello

Funny reply's but its all good

I don't have to drive my car when the weather is bad so I don't. It stays in the garage.

Share the deal. Sure

The car has been listed for 45K since it arrived on the dealers lot. A recent price reduction moved the price down to 35K. I am trading my 2011 MCA V-6 convertible with 30000 mile and paying 20k for the 2015.

I look at it like I am getting one heck of a car for 20K as the trade-in or resale on the 2011 is a moving target.

The dealer has several more 2015 Roush Ecoboosts on the lot.

Don't know and don't care. Like I have said in the past. Once you crew one of these everything else is just for fun.

Hello

The car has appearance upgrades as you can see but it also comes with the Roush Quad Cat back exhaust that I could add the full Roush active exhaust system if I was so inclined.

More to follow on this car once I get to the dealer tomorrow and then drive it 2 hours home.

How does the power feel when compared to the v6 you had? Just wondering

David

That is an interesting question. I currently have 165 miles on the new car so I have not driven it that much as the car is not a daily driver. Most of those miles were put on during the drive back to Charleston from Hilton Head and that drive was made during thunder storms.

My first impression of the car with handling and power is WOW. I am very impressed and I have been trying out the Performance Package driving settings a little and plan on running the car in the Sport setting most of the time.

One other interesting point is that my 2011 was running the Bama 89 Performance tune. I had to return the V-6 to the stock tune prior to trading it in at the dealer. The 2011 lost a lot of its pep with the return to the stock tune. I had to return it to the stock tune so that I could use my tuner on the new 2015 EcoBoost after paying the $140 for new tunes for life.

When the EcoBoost first came out I was one of those "NO WAY" would I ever buy that car. Then I rented two EcoBoost mustangs and they both were good cars that drove well and had a lot of power but I am sure they were running 87 octane gas. I will only run 93 octane with 91 octane as my fall back option and the car will be driven hard by an old guy. My new Bama performance 93 tune is in the works but I might wait for at least 1000 mile of driving time before I install the tune just so I can feel the difference.

Check back in a few months for an undated honest impression.

So which would you say is the faster car the ecoboost or the 3.7 I know they both have the same horsepower. Well maybe not yours since it is the roush ecoboost but driving the rentals which do you think is the faster car.

I actually believe the ecoboost has more HP. If you look in Fords catalogs they advertise the 3.7 with 300HP and the ecoboost with 325HP I believe.

The 3.7 is listed at 305 hp I think, but Id be more interested in torque. That's where our 3.7s are weakest IMO.

15 Sales brochure shows:
3.7 300hp@6500 rpm, 280 ft trq @ 4000 rpm - 87 octane
2.3 EcoBooost 310 HP@5500 320 ft trq @ 3000 rpm - 93 octane

14 Sales Brochure shows:
3.7 305HP @ 6500, 280 ft trq @ 4250 rpm - 87 octane

Any "drive line" vibrations (50-70mph) in your new Roush PP?

Like I told my wife.

Sometimes you have to let the pony run.

She did not like that.

Whenever I contemplate a 2015+, I always tell myself that my first mod will be a roush front end conversion. It just looks too damn good.
