Can't drive itself. But if you take it that seriously sorry. I make sure to put someone in the sentence next time.

According to halo, they still don't have self driving cars in 2453 hahahaha, even though tesla has one, kinda.

Relax George. Youre a v8 guy, we get it. I only race people when they smile at me with their 3 teeth and rev their jacked up truck at the light.

And my sweet sixxer still takes them off the line.

My neighbor let me drive his 2016 f150 5.0, and it had no balls off the line. Most trucks are made to pull not race, just saying.

No offense, but 410 and 320 sounds pretty weak. Not to mention having to void your warranty and hope your internals make it past 50k.

Agreed, in cars.

Trucks use tq to pull rather then race.

Another mystery is why GT guys feel compelled to come to the V6 conversation and try to rub it in our faces that our cars will never be as good as theirs

I love GTs, it just made more sense for me personally to get a fully loaded sixxer

Someone needs to inform the driver of the Duramax, that I was lined up against last night, of this revelation.
I suppose, technically, he was pulling though... On me!!! Haha

Just barely!

Well at 397hp and 760tq.

Your Bullitt is what 265hp and 305tq stock?
That's a 132hp and 455tq more then you, slight difference in numbers lol.
A coyote car that has a ton less tq in comparison to a duramax will leave it in the dust.

Put that same coyote next to duramax and let's see who can pull what lol.
It's about how the tq and hp is delivered for each application.

My Bullitt is better suited for the corners... I have a 91 F250, single cab, 2wd, with a street built 466 that I use for taking on the diesels. It's somewhere in the neighborhood of 350-400 hp/500 tq. I typically don't have a problem with the stock diesels, due to my lighter weight, but the modded trucks can cause me some grief. The Chevy last night was definitely NOT stock! I still was able to keep within a car (truck?) length of him though... Thank goodness that he had a long truck! Haha.
It always amuses me how something that big and heavy, can get moving so fast! It's fun, win or lose.

A Coyote, or probably even a 3.7, would have smoked that Duramax.

My friend has an 04 4.6, and I still say it's ford's greatest sounding engine to date. I'd love to pick one up as my second daily mustang, but my wife will say no.😣

You're not seriously comparing a gas truck to a turbo diesel, are you?

No. Whether it's gas or diesel the point is they are built to PULL not RACE.
Not sure why this concept is so hard to grasp. Smh

Would you be interested in footage of trucks that were built to do both?

Because it honestly sounds like you don't know what you're talking about, no offense.

While impressive for a pickup it's no speed demon. A stock coyote runs 13 flat stock, that's 4 seconds quicker then the tq monster which is an eternity on the track.

I'm sure I can find more if u like,
but the extremely high tq numbers are meant to pull pretty much anything it wants and not to run it down a track. While I'm sure there are fast trucks out there we are talking about stock trucks with very few exceptions, like speciality trucks, lightning, raptor ect.

So yes I'm sure there are fast trucks out there no doubt, mods and money can make anything fast, but Im talking stock for stock. Just saying.

You are correct. The high tq numbers are designed and tuned to pull. The gear ratio ect...all of that is made to pull. Which explains why they aren't crazy fast.

With a very few exceptions, you are correct. The auto manufacturers intend for trucks to be used as utilitarian vehicles.
Here's the thing though: People have been racing automobiles since the day that the second car was built. Before that, they were racing horses and buggies. Really, there are no vehicles that are race cars until you go out and race them.
I used to have a neighbor, who is a doctor, that had a wide variety of exotic performance cars over the years. He never had a desire to drive them at their full potential. He wasn't fast, so neither were any of his cars, in my opinion.

The sub-10 second trucks that you see on YouTube are not the ones that are pulling the car trailer to the track. They are the ones riding on top of the trailer. There is a definite loss of utility when modding pickups. Especially gas trucks! Diesels are a bit more forgiving, to a certain point, but they can be turned up to way beyond what would be considered useful power increases on a street driven truck.
I can't even count the number of videos where a diesel pops the drivetrain under boost at the starting line! That is not going to be a good truck to drive daily!
