How To?

So I found a decklid panel that will fit 10-14 that I really like. The seller states that it is custom made and doesn't require cutting into the truck as some of the other require. Although I do have a bid in on this, does anyone know how one would make this? I'm asking in case I do not win it but I love the look of the decklid on the 15-17.

The only way it wouldn't require cutting is if it stuck out about an inch or so the whole way. There is metal in the faux cap area and there's no way to make it flush without cutting.

There are some on AM that don't require cutting. The only ones I can find though are ridged and not smooth like this.

Like I said... if it didn't require cutting it would stick out. There is a protruding area... no way to make it smooth unless you A) cut away some metal or B) make it stick out thicker.

This is the point I'm making. Won't require cutting but has a bulge to get past the cutting.

If you want smooth it will require cutting.

Just get the one where you have to cut the hole. It looks way better in my opinion. I have the RTR decklid and it looks so much cleaner than the ones that stick out. I attached a picture so you can see what it looks like 👍

I love how they look, just not sure that I'm up to cutting into the car.

You can remove the faux cap and have a bulged flat cover but to get a smooth flat cover it requires you to cut a cap shaped piece of metal that's behind it.

I believe the one in the eBay post is bulged. It won't really bother me anyways as I have Raxiom aero taillights on my 2011, which bulge out themselves. Will probably make everything flush on the back side.
