3.7 Dyno Question

I had a dyno done today and with a new axel back exhaust, cold air intake and a Bama 93 Race tune and was only pulling 266Hp. why is it so low compared to others who have similar mods? I know weather can affect it, but I've seen people with similar mods get up to 280.

Every dyno will read differently, even those of the same make and model.

You cannot compare the dyno graphs between two cars, dyno'd on different days on different dyno's, they will read differently. The only purpose of a dyno is for a tuner to make changes and test and see if it helped the car make more power. Don't worry about it. Even two dyno's of the same brand make and model will read differently. Same day same dyno, is the only way to compare the output of two cars.

Thank you for the info, I'm hoping that one day I can get over 300hp to the wheels without forced induction. I was worried I was doing something wrong but now not so much, thank you!

Yes it is so I'm expecting about an 18% loss instead of the normal 15 for a manual

Whose dyno did you use, DTP, Abacus (I spend a lot of time on their dyno), Ramey, All Aspects, or JLT? I know that Abacus and Ramey have Dynojet units, and All Aspects has an all wheel drive Superflow, but I don't know who else has what.

Proving to my fellow racers that the disdain that some GT drivers have for V6 drivers is unfounded, one results archive at a time since 2013.

Don't worry about HP numbers. If you can get to a track focus on times. It's the true measure that your car is and/or will be faster than another. Example: My 2012 V6 w/ 3.31s, cai, Bama 91 race, GT H pipe and magnaflow street axel backs could barely keep up with my buddies IS350. It did have a 4.11 final drive and stock comes with 300 hp, but it just shot like a rocket. Kept up with M3s. So HP is an ok way to gauge how fast a car COULD be but it's all in how it puts the power down and when.

How are you doing your ecoboost setup? I see supersix motorsports has header adapters, and you can get turbos from a wrecked f150, they have a 2015 v6 and supposedly all the cold side piping will work with a little modification. All in your looking at a quick spooling setup for like $3k

I was on the 300 horsepower at the wheels quest. I believe I will never make it and have given up 280 something is all I can ever hope for .

One thing I have noticed, the ' very few' v6 Mustangs that have 300+ to the wheels run the 1/4 mile in the 12's.
