today i went 80 mph on 5th gear and after i let go of the gas as the car slowed down there was a hard grinding going on...? it does not happen on any of the other gears...Is it normal for it to do that? i have a premium v6 2011 mustang fyi..
Sounds like its just the dual mass flywheel and this is the first time your hearing it. How long have you had the car?
If in fact this is the case its normal.
If it were happening in the same RPM range, in every gear, i would say its your engine..
but, if its just noisy in one gear only, i would say its your trans..
when was the last time you had the trans fluid changed...?
I bought it with 60k miles on it used. ive had it for a month and it does not do it at the same rpm in other gears, just in fifth, sometimes accelerating over 70mph in 5th it starts to rumble quite alot it seemed, also i plan on doing the transmission fluid check and see if it needs a change next time i go for an oil change
do any of you change your trans fluid frequently or do any of you change your gear fluid ever? what should i be frequently changing aside from the type oil change?
