I recently noticed the paint starting to fail in certain areas and even got a glob of rust on the lower door panel. So instead of going through all the Hoops with the paint I fix the rest myself and decided to do a full wrap. This is what I got so far I still need to do the side Scoops black and add the rocker stripes.
I used Avery 900 series vinyl which is more expensive but well worth it. You goes on super easy with great tack and has a minimum seven-year life even in the Sun
They don't usually wrap that part unless you pay extra, but I wrapped mine myself and will eventually wrap the inside door jams. No need to wrap under the hood or trunk really.
Thanks. It is dark gray gloss with satin black stripes. It cost me $400 all said and done. A proper paint fix by a body shop would have been much more, but the thing I like is the paint is now protected until I decide to sell it.
Thanks, the dark grey definitely looks lighter in the sun than some other pictures would show. If you don't mind me asking, how many feet did you buy and where did you get it for $400? Best deal I could find is $500 for a 75-feet roll.
832 is gloss gray. I wrapped my wife's Volvo in that just before I wrapped my Mustang. BE WARNED: In the sun this color looks nearly white. It's super weird, in indoor light it looks medium gray but not outside. You might want to go with the dark gray that I used.
I only needed 45 feet of vinyl, but my top is glass so 50 feet should work for you. I get all my vinyl from Metrorestyling on ebay... they are accurate and very fast. I actually got my credit card duplicated using some "cheaper" ebay place out in Cali, so be careful who you buy from.
I'll post some before and after pics of my wifes car as well.
Yeah that's really light, might as well be off-white. Good looking out!
