Re: 2011 Mustang Numbers being reported confirmed

agreed. But either way you look at it, this new 5.0 is still going to be pretty damn impressive (we hope). It's still HP numbers we can certainly hope that Ford will deliver on, if you really think perspectively back when hp was floating around 200-300 with most american cars, 400+ was not obtainable unless you beefed up the motor. Or spent over 50K to get a car with 400+ stock. So even this stock motor and how ford tweaked the body design and incorporated the Brembo braking system into their new Trak Pak (again, we hope) along with a 6 speed (couldn't get a six unless you bought the Shelby, Saleen, or Roush), this 2011 car is gonna be delivering a whole lot of spankings.

Don't fret fellow mustang friend! 25K on a V6 is no small thing, and I bet you're putting up some impressive HP numbers and from what I can see in your little avatar, I would definitely think that you've got a GT on your hands. But I do think (own personal opinion) that having 5.0 on the side of a new 2011 will have just as much drool worthy appeal as your pimped out lil ride you've currently got!

Hell the future V6 model will outrun my car unless I start doing some serious mods. Oh well don't plan on doing much else to it because I really want a new 5.0 car.

^^ yea ford finally upping the power, and BIG. I dont remember the last time the Mustang got 100hp jump over where it was, if it ever has (since 79). They finally are taking competition seriously.

Re: 2011 Mustang Numbers being reported confirmed

absolutely! Plus with this new block and solid internals (they specifically mentioned power-adders in their decision to throw in the forged steel crank) this is gonna be one mean engine. I had just a few moments ago, taken a gander at the leaked pics (these are real) and OMFG the car looks AMAZING with that 5.0 badge, and the way the engine itself looks has definitely already made me send a nasty lil email to my sales rep, demanding the switch my order to the 2011 (as SOON as the ordering is made available) or bodily harm will occur LOL. here's the link, and you'll probably drool all over the place like I did. the engine is THAT sexy!

Re: 2011 Mustang Numbers being reported confirmed

Well like MilitaryMustang I too will be heading to the sales rep. I see that you can place your order on 18 Jan 2010. Everything I see so far is awesome concerning this car. I have a friend that just bought a M3 BMW and he can't wait until I get this car to see how they are head to head. Both are V8's with around the same HP, but the Mustang has more torque. Should be interesting on the Autobahn. We have raced home a couple of times in our cars (pre M3) so we understand how we each drive. This will also be something I need to video and put it on youtube. The more I learn about this new Mustang the more I want it. That said I am sure it will take some time to arrive here. I would like to see the three new colors as well.

Now the real question is.. How much effort would it take to swap this engine into a 99-04 body...

yea i agree with you 100% on the rearend. now i know that im not the only one that thinks the 2010 mustang's rearend looks like an eclipse. the front looks mean and slick but that rear end turned me off when i went to look at them.

Amen to that. I wish our cars were faster, but hey, you just gotta love the 99-04. just a crazy idea, but do you think it would be possible to stick the 2011 5.0 engine into a 99-04????

Re: 2011 Mustang Numbers being reported confirmed

So I feel that I will lose my mind before this car is unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. I come home after work everyday looking for new info on this car, specifically pricing. I would love it if Ford had the 2011 on it's website so we could build and price this car. I am so ready to have the final info so we can start looking into ordering one. I understand that ordering can begin on the 18th of Jan. 12 Long days away ahhaha

MilitaryMustang - What is your military car sales dealer saying about info and such? Mine keep saying I can put an order in and they feel the new car will be about $1500 to $1800 more than the 2010.
