Looking for advise on axleback exhaust.

I'm looking at getting an exhaust soon and need some opinions on what would suit my 2010 stang. I like a low throaty rumble but not to loud. I definately dont want any spittin and sputtering sound. Just a clean low end sound that is not to annoying or raspy. Any good opinions would be great.
Thx.

Yah I was gonna say FRPP too. It's probably the quietest, yet still sounds good. I'd say borla or magnaflow if you want a real deep tone, but they are pretty loud overall, even with stock manifolds and midpipe.

Re: Looking for advise on axleback exhaust.

yep, I put on the Ford M-5230-S on my 08. Nice upgrade over stock, but not intrusive. Although I'm always looking for reasons to get on it to hear the exhaust. I also think it has a really good sound at the upper RPMs.

Re: Looking for advise on axleback exhaust.

I'm running the axle-back Magnapaks with the factory manifolds and H-pipe. No drone at cruising speed, but they sound off when the foot gets heavy. Not obnoxiously loud, but they have a nice powerful throaty roar when the RPMs begin to climb.

I think most of the guys here are running something other than flowmaster...not that they sound bad, I think they do sound good on mustangs, but it seems everyone has them on their car, so a lot of guys lean towards FRPP, Borla, Magnaflow, Pypes, MAC, etc.

Re: Looking for advise on axleback exhaust.

Mustangs need to make noise an axle back isnt as different in the sound department as a catback would be on the pre 05 models.

Re: Looking for advise on axleback exhaust.

I've got a 2010 Grabber Blue GT and I simply took it to my Local Muffler Shop. They removed the heavy-*** mufflers, fabricated a fitting for 3.5" Stainless Steel Slash-Cut Pipes, and bolted right on (No welding or cuts on stock system). Noticed a significant increase in throatyness and overall sound with no drone and a bit more punch in power. For $150, I'm laughing at the boys that spend $350+ on axle backs... You'd be suprised at what your local shop can do for you!!

I say either Borla/Roush/Steeda/FRPP stingers, Magnapacks or Bassani Race.
