V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

Hello all,

I new here, and I want to make my dream true:
I will buy a Mustang and bring it home to Germany.

In Germany, Ford doesn´t sell this car, so it ist impossible to get one. Sure, there are free dealers, who get the cars and bring it to Germany, but they are very, very expensive.

So I decided to try it without them.

I already know, what I want: a V6 Coupe Premium in Red Candy Metallic.

Now I wait the prices to fall, I hope they will fall, when the 2011 Stangs are there. Or don´t you think so?

I have already found such a car in Florida (that ist good, because I have to transport the car to a harbour, and Jacksonville is not so far away), the Windows Sticker says about 26,800 $, and they sell it for 23,850 $, should I wait or is this already the last price?

Best greetings from Germany

Nicole

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

I would wait. The 2011 mustangs will be much better. The v6 will have better gas mileage and a new engine design (300 horse power). This will make the 2010 v6 mustangs price go down.

Do you think the 2005-2010 GT's price will come down as well? Down here in Texas, they run from 19k-26k for used ones depending on mileage and condition

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

I would wait.. Spector is dead on. Were hopefully going to see a lot of people trying to sell their 2010's because of this, or that.. Not they are bad cars, but there are some people who have to have the latest and greatest. Not to mention a lot of people are waiting right now to buy the 2011's V6 & GT models. I would wait and look again around November. Also consider some other dealers in Florida.. Daytona&Melbourne--area port Canaveral is right there as well. Tampa wouldn't be bad you would have to drive about 3hrs to port. You could ship out of Tampa, but probably cost a couple extra bucks. Look throughout the East Coast of the U.S. You shouldn't have much of a problem finding a port a nearby.

Yah I agree with what everyone's been saying. Wait a little while longer and used 2010 premium coupes will pop up and new ones will go for a song.

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

Ok, that are fine news!
So I wait, and will look also to some other dealers, but I probably will not be able to fly to the States and buy the car. I will have to make ist by mail and phone, and in the east of Florida I know a nice couple that has lived in Germany (he was in the Army until his retirement), and they could help me, that is a great advantage!
But waiting until November... that is a long time!

When do the first 2011 Mustangs go to the dealers?

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

The 2011's should start being made around mid April (so two weeks) then they will show up at the dealers around the first of May. Sometime around then.

The beginning of May is about right. But depending on the wait list it could be early June, or July before the 2011's are stocked. Really depends on volume and how many 2010's are left on the lot.

You don't have wait till November, usually some of the best deals are found after labor day into October-Nov. They don't want to get stuck with them so they take a little less money. I would imagine they will come down about $ 200-500 end of this month into next.

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

May or a few weeks later, that doesn´t matter. I´ll try to be patient...

Another question: I wrote to several (6 or 7) Ford dealers with the mailing system on their homepage, that I am interested in a Ford Mustang, and nobody answered me. It ist a little bit funny, not to answer a person, who wants to buy a car...
Has anybody an idea, why they don´t answer? Or is it a problem for the dealers to sell a car for export?

I think they have websites that just exist and they don't up date them very often. My brother ran into that problem when he was looking. They would be like, well that one sold about 3 weeks ago.. One of them admitted to not updating their website but about once a month. Your right it's crazy to think that they wouldn't answer, or even bother to up-date their site.

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

It is right, thy don´t update their websites, since several weeks there are always the same cars...
Today I tried to make a telephone call to one dealer, it was not really easy, I had a bit problems in understanding him, but we got it. I gave him my E-Mail-adress, and he sent me an offer for a car.
Now I know, that it is possible to get a contact!
It´not a good price, he offered me the price of the window-sticker, without any rebates, but tomorrow I´ll ask for a better price.
He also offered me a pre-owened V6 Premium, but I think, this price is to high, too.

It is just a try, and if I dont´t get a good price, I will wait.
Making a telephone call in a foreign language is very interesting! (more for me than for the poor guy )

Wait a little bit. The 2011 mustangs will be sold starting in May. The 2010s will get good rebates/offers since they need to sell them.

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

Hey Intruder4711 Ive been reading that Ford is going to export the Mustang to Europe. I have not seen or have read any dates but with Job1 for the 2011s hitting showrooms now it should be soon. So like everyone else I say play the waiting game or go to your local Ford Dealer in Germany and see if they can do a 2010 import for you or see if they have any information on the 2011s coming to their showroom.

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

I´ve asked my local Ford Dealer in Germany, but he says, that Ford won´t sell the Mustang in Europe, because here all the people like only small cars, which need few gasoline.
That´s right, gasoline ist very expensive here, but what about me (and a few other fools, who don´t want to be reasonable)?

But let me tell you another story:
I made a bad experience with a Ford dealer. I found a new V6 Coupe Premium, which had a price of 22,888 $. I told my friends in Florida this price and the VIN, and they went to the dealer to get a little bit more rebate.

And after two days they told me: it was difficult, but he will give you the car at a price of 20,000 $!

I was really happy, and told them that they should give my Fax-number to the dealer, so that he could send me informations.
I got a fax the next day, but there was another VIN than I had for the car.
I was surprised, and searched for this VIN on the dealer´s homepage, and found it: it was a used Mustang with more than 20,000 miles on it. We had never talked about a used car!
I wrote him, that this must be an error, and then he was surprised: I should have known, that we talked about a used car.......

That was very annoying. In future I will be very, very careful!

Now I keep waiting for falling prices and friendly dealers....

BTW: Is there a state, where the rebates are higher than in other states? I am not sure, but I think, the rebates depend on the location, is this right? Is this the dealers´s location or the customer´s location?

Yeah kind of. Do you know what state you are buying the car from because I can help you find were good rebates are (on my free time of course).

Ok so lets say you are looking around here in the Chicago land area. Rebates and Incentives go as for the V6 Mustang (2010 of course).

2Program #11794:$1,000.00 Ford Credit Bonus cash requires Ford Credit financing. Not all buyers will qualify. Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 6/1/2010. See dealer for residency restrictions, qualifications and complete details.
3Program #11796:Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 6/1/2010. Excluding Hybrids. See dealer for residency restrictions and complete details.

But then again if you were there in person you could try and talk the price down.

Yeah so if you want just give me a zip code or state name or city name and I could help you find some incentives and stuff.

(Tell me if any of that made any sense?)

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

That´s nice of you!
At the moment, I look near the big harbors, Jacksonville (FL), Houston (TX) and in California, because someone has told me, the cars in California are not so expensive.
One dealer has told me, the rebates are only good if I will be titling the vehicle in the United States, another said, that they generally don´t sell to customers, who live out of the country.
A third one told me, that I can get rebates, but only if I pay the sales tax, and then export the car (normally the sales tax is not to be paid when the car is directly exported).
But most of the dealers are very friendly, and offer rebates, some offer 500 $, some offer 2,500 $, and some offer additional incentives.
It would be so kind, if you could tell me the right amount of the rebates, I can get.
And what exactly are “incentives”? I think, that is an additional rebate from the dealer, not from Ford, am I right? And in which amount can one get them?
I thank you so much for your help!

One question before I go on. Do you plan on purchasing the vehicle from help from Ford Motor Credit or a bank you have chosen?

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

There is very bad news for me!
All the dealers, I´ve talked to, told me now, that they don’t t give any rebates to persons, who do not live in the United States.
That means, that I have to pay the price on the windows sticker, maybe a little bit less, but I can´t get any rebates from Ford.
That’s really bad, because in this case it is much too expensive for me. I don’t yet know what to do….
Thanks to you, SVTCOBRA, but now it doesn´t even matter, that I wanted to pay cash.
I am very sad.

Don't give up because I have a plan. Are you married?, if so tell your wife that you want to take a trip to the states and you could haggle down the price in person when she is out shopping or something. Even if your not married gives you a good reason to come state side.

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

Good idea!
Would be nice to come to the States to make a "shopping tour" and come home with a car that I´ve bought “accidentally”!
But maybe we´ll really take an airplane and make it, who knows? Let´s hope that the volcano won´t block all air traffic again (Last week I had really trouble in getting home again, because all flights in Europe were cancelled).
If you see a good offer for a V6 Coupe Premium (and you don´t want to buy it yourself), please post it here, maybe that will help me!

If I see any deals I'll certainly post. Rebates are usually handled by outside companies that have teamed up with manufactures. So you will have more power face to face. Have you tried an auto broker here in the states?

No I am a male if that is what you are implying.

I suggested it because it has work with girlfriends mine in the past.

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

I am a female, but I think here in this forum it doesn´t matter!

I have an important question: I found a used Mustang in Houston: https://www.machaikford.com/Used-Car...5107515&dpt=2# .
I like this car, and it is not so expensive, and I can get it without the problems of the rebates!

Is it s good deal?

If there somebody who lives in Houston, and knows this dealer?

Here is the Link, but I don´t know, how long it will work, they wanted to take it off: https://www.machaikford.com/Used-Car...5107515&dpt=2#

I am so happy!
Thats great.

So it only cost a few grand to export it to Germany. I thought it would be a bit more? I tried importing a Aussie Ford Falcon(the importing price would of killed me).

Post some pics when you get your mustang and enjoy.

Im really liking that saddle leather interior. Something different from the same old black and tan.

Re: V6 Coupe - Export to Germany

Yes, it´s wonderful, I can´t wait to have it here with me!

@ SVTCOBRA:
The costs for the export are additionally to the 18,140.00 $:

Transport from Houston to me: 1,600 $
Insurance for the transport: 300 $
Costs for bringing the car off the ship und handling in harbor: 330 $

Customs duty: 10% of all the costs, ca . 2,000 $
German Sales Tax: 19 % of all costs, inclusive Customs duty: ca 4,250 $

Technical changes: ca 2,000 $

So, all together 10,500 $ + the price of 18,140 $: 28,500 $.

But for such a car, it is not so expensive. There are no cars like this to buy here in Germany, and even a normal BMW with 150 HP costs about 30,000 $.

Sales tax in Germany is 19%!, sweet Jesus that is really high.

When I priced the import of the Aussie Falcon for the car alone it was $29,500 then another $20,000 for transportation and all that good stuff to just get it to the states. Then there was "special modifications" that would of had to be done to make it legal. So I had to leave my dream in the land down under.

Is there an arrival date that you know of or did they just say a few weeks?

I hope everything goes real smooth and there are little to no delays.
