Smile A new convertible, but nobody to share with

Just finished reading the thread "The wife's 2010 V6 convertible". My hat's off to this guy for having a wife who not only supports his passion, but joins him in it. My ex-fiance saw my 2007 GT/CS as the mistress that she could not compete with. Note that she's gone and the Mustang is still with me. Also, I too am looking to become a two Mustang household, by adding a convertible with the new V6. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending your view, both cars will be mine.

honestly, if she's going to leave over a car, you made the right choice. Your car won't ever fail you like she did. My car has outlasted 3 relationships, and I reward it constantly for being the most stable female I've ever met

Re: A new convertible, but nobody to share with

as a female mustang enthusiast, you find both ends of the spectrum. you find the guys that drool over the fact that a girl isn't scared to get her hands dirty to work on a car or isn't scared to drive the car the way its meant to be driven... on the other hand, as mentioned you find the guys who feel inferior and can't stand the girl knowing more about cars then they do.

i got lucky and found me someone who loves working on cars as much as me.. we work on them together... and he can pull apart anything and put it back together AND it works... lol

but i do believe that there are some limitations. one of my exes was a little too much into his truck. he would spend more time with it then me. of course maybe i was just jealous that we weren't working on my Mustang instead

Re: A new convertible, but nobody to share with

I was lucky enough to find such a great guy. I dated a few guys, some who knew nothing about cars, some who had an idea, and some who knew only about say foreign cars...none of that worked for me! lol I hate trying to explain parts and upgrades to a GUY....shouldn't he know already?? lol

But I will say...although I am a girl...finding that significant other to share your love for mustangs with is priceless! Good Luck with your search.

Wow UPRDanielle your black Cobra looks cleaner then my uncles bullitt, and he doesn't even drive it he just washes it and keeps it in the garage. Beautiful I mean its just damn beautiful.

But I wish I could find a girl that had a slight interest in cars. All the girls that I know think Im nuts because of obsession with cars (mainly Fords). Oh well **** happens.

It sure in the hell is and it is much cheaper too. You can have a bunch of money to dump into your Mustang if your single. IMO

Lol thanks! Believe it or not my b/f and I met at a street racing meet about 4 years ago. How many people can say that??? LOL

I know there aren't many girls out there into mustangs, or cars in general...but I've met most of the girls into cars out at the track, club events, meets or on local forums.

lol You just say that because you haven't found anyone yet.

My b/f doesn't pay for any of my stuff, just dinner if we go out...and sometimes we even split on it or go dutch. We both dump our money into our cars, and never give the other a hard time on purchasing parts (unless there is a better deal on the same thing elsewhere! LOL). One day he walked into the house holding something behind his back saying 'I got something for you...' Flowers? Heck no...a pair of exhaust tips for my car since mine were all screwed up! haha

My b/f owns a shop (Power By The Hour, if anyone has been keeping up with the May and June editions of 5.0 Mustangs lol) and spends most of his time over there working on customer's cars...obviously. But when it comes to our own cars, we both help each other out. Heck, I even welded some of his turbo kit just to learn how to tig.

You just gotta find that right person.

Re: A new convertible, but nobody to share with

When I met my wife I had an 02 V6 and she had her 04 GT. I sold the V6, bought an 03 cobra and a 90 LX 7-up car and we haven't looked back since then lol.

It's all a matter of finding the right person who will accept it and go with it. I think she's content with the fact I spend longer in the garage than in the house most evenings.

Ha! I'd be all over a girl that liked cars, I don't care if she knows more about them than I do. Maybe I could learn a thing or two.
