Re: Gauge Help

speed of sound pods are the BEST period, dont buy autometer pods, their gauges are great, but their pods are cheap.

Re: Gauge Help

I've always been a big fan of Stewart Warner gauges. I've had them in all my cars.

As far as pillar pods, I have not seen one for the 2010, yet. I hope they are out there!

Re: Gauge Help

I recently inquired about this with Speed of Sound and this was their reply:

Quote:
Until our website changes are completed (hopefully soon, it’s been a bigger project than expected), we ask that you simply order a 2005-2009 pillar in the CLOSEST configuration to what you need. Use the comment box in the shopping cart to specify: 2010 Mustang GT coupe

We do have dual and triple pillars in dark charcoal (black) in stock, and they work just fine on glass roof cars. Several 2010+ pillars shipped today, for example.

Thanks for your interest, and hopefully we can soon ship you a new gauge pillar.

Regards,

Alan Lindgren

Re: Gauge Help

Have you been to Glowshiftdirect.com? They have some of the coolest I've seen. Cheaper than Autometer and they sell pods and pillars too.

A little more pricey but you get what you pay for. Autometer is top notch.

Re: Gauge Help

I am going to go with Aeroforce gauges since I need measurements on stuff the computer reads that normal gauges dont.

Re: Gauge Help

I am just curious to how some of these pillar pods install for an 2010.. It looks like the whole A-pillar goes up from the front dash to the end of the back of the car near the rear dash.. That's a whole lot of pillar! haha

Re: Gauge Help

The A-pillar is removed by inserting your fingers into it and pulling, starting from the top and working down towards the windshield. It's simply clipped on. The 2010 pillar is different only on the inside from 2005-2009 models. Once it's pulled off, the Speed of Sound gauge pod takes its place. It is inserted in place of the stock part in the reverse direction, starting with the windshield area and working back towards the roof-line until it's snapped in tight. SOS uses OEM Ford A-pillars with the injection-molded pods riveted into holes cut into the A-pillar piece. It looks stock because it practically is.

Someone I work with saw the SOS A-pillar draped over a chair where I sit, all wrapped in bubble and foam wrap, and thought it was a broom or something. The part is quite long.

I just had a triple installed in my 2010 GT. Hot stuff. Auto Meter Nexus gauges FTW.

I don't suppose you have any pics of this? I'd love to see the pop by itself and then installed.
