Re: V6 pony package Billet grille help please!

I have the 2010 W/ pony pkg. and was wondering if this grill would work.
I was planning on getting the same grill, and thought the extra chrome pieces might be in the way. Interested in seeing how this turns out.

Re: V6 pony package Billet grille help please!

I'm actually ready to buy one myself... but I'm replacing the top grill only. The grill will have no horse emblem... but I'm planning on putting the old tri-color (small) pony emblem on the left side of the grill (right side if your facing the car).I think it completely replaces the old grill though... not like the one's that you install in front of the original... if that makes sense...

It costs around $100. It should make the front look really cool.

Stack Racing has several styles, but they are replacement grills, not overlays.

That grille looks much better than any billet one imo.

Re: V6 pony package Billet grille help please!

Good to know. The 2010+ install differently than the older ones. Looks like to make the overlay ones work, you need to do some modifications to your main grill to get it to fit just right and it won't work if you have the pony package. I suppose you could look for a used standard grill and use that as a base for the overlay...but seems like a lot of work.

look into a Roush grill for 2010, it may be the same size opening as you have, or look into the 2011 if those will work for the V6 Mustang Club Of America Edition it has a unique grill they say.

Re: V6 pony package Billet grille help please!

I did get a chance just the other day to take a close look at the Roush grill. Looks like a nice part and not an overlay. I can't say about V6 fitment though.

Re: V6 pony package Billet grille help please!

I'm currently facing your exact dilemma.....my pony package mustang isn't compatible with this grill Black Mustang Pony Delete Billet Grille (10-11 V6) .....I worked out a deal with a buddies at the dealership and traded my pony package grill for a stock 2010 v6 grill.....I'm told this WILL work...If not I'm probably going to end up rigging up something custom to make it work...Would you like me to keep you posted?

Re: V6 pony package Billet grille help please!

I'm looking at the same thing, I'm looking at replacing the Pony Grill will the Chrom Billet from the Ford catalog. Tried to order it with the chrom billet (you can load it that way on the internet), but the dealer came back that it was a dealer option. Salesman said that I could order it through the sales department if I wanted at the sales department discount. I guess I'll see if his word holds up. Ford billet grill (complete grill) is suppose to be a direct replacement. Sorry if this does not help you out right a way, But I'll know more when the car arrives end of March-first of April.

You can get a full replacement billet grill, black or chrome , at partscheap.com . It also has the tri-pony emblem already installed.

Are you talking about the Ford dark stainless grill? If so I've seen it in person and its not quite the dark back that I'm personally looking for. Plus it puts twice the hole in my wallet!!!

Great part though and I agree it is WAY easier then dealing with all the pony package trouble that I am.

Here's the links to the grills I think he was mentioning:

Re: V6 pony package Billet grille help please!

Just got an email back from the dealer on the billet grill for the 2012 pony package I ordered. He said $300 installed, but that they would not be available until next month and that he thought the price would not change. Price he quoted was for a 2011 chrome billet grill. Computer system does not yet show parts for the 2012 cars, but I don’t see what the difference would be. Car is possibly going to be at the dealer around the 9th of March; starting to get excited:

Upper and lower or still just upper?

This is a full replacement right?

Re: V6 pony package Billet grille help please!

The $300 is for the Ford OEM chrome billet and it is just the upper. I know it is more $$$, but to not have to hassle with it and to have it worth more in the long run, was worth it to me. I just hope that it looks as good as I hope when I get it in. Plus I'll has the original grille if I want or need to change back.

I kept the original grille also so when I sell it in the future it gives the new owner a couple of options.

2011 Ford Mustang Accessories

its a grille swap not an overlay. fits right into the v6 grille without the surround that the GT needs. i just ordered this one cuz its the same one that comes on GT/CS edition

this is a better image of it
http://www.muscularmustangs.com/gall...cs_mustang.jpg

it comes with the tri bar pony logo on it.
