FFRP Hot Rod or Mutha Thumpr cams

Now I'm sure this gets asked a lot, but before everyone voices their opinion how about the gains?

What gains HP/TQ wise do you get with each one and which would be better for a daily driver?

My 2010 GT is stock other than flowmaster mufflers and I'm running a 3.31 rear end.

In my opinion, Id finish off the bolt-ons. Youd see a lot more power at that point. You would at least need a tuner. Im sure the gains for each are about the same.

Thumpers will give u more of a gain but the hot rods sound sick! If its a daily driver and you haven't heard the frpp cam in person with a off-road mid pipe u might wanna rethink because they are fuuuuuucking obnoxious. As stated above go for some lts first before the cams or you will not see **** for gains

the Mutha Thumpr cams are mean sounding, have a friend that just installed them on his 08. If you want before/after numbers I can probably get them. I do know he has most bolt-ons before doing cams.

I wouldn't get cams yet. As tigerfan stated get some bolt ons first. With cams you will want at least 3.73 gears. Also get a hand held tuner so your tuner can get you tune for the cams.

I went to the track this past Saturday. When of the guys that went with us has Mutha Thumper Cams in 2006 Mustang GT. He also has a tune from Bama/American Muscle. His 1/4 mile time was only 14.3. He still has the stock 3.31 gears and was using street tires. Other S197s on street tires were running 14.00 to 14.2. If you plan on taking your car to the track, I would get gears if plan having cams installed.

the frpp cams would be the better choice for you. They allow you to use the variable cam timing without the need of phase limiters. you might not get quite as much on the top end but no bottom end torque will be lost so the drivability will be slightly better. i am ordering the frpp cams for mine shortly.

Might want to talk to your tuner before doing much. Another friend just gave up on his 3v because the hot rod cams made it unbearable to drive around town...

News to me, i have never heard of anyone having problems. everyone i have talked to about these loves them. who did the install and tune?
