Where should I stop and start my Black Stripes

Hey guys I just bought a 2010 gt and I am getting black stripes put on the car. I was wondering where should I start them? At the end of the hood or at the bumper? Thanks for your thoughts.

Which way do YOU think looks better? It is your car after all.

I personally don't favor running the stripes, "all the way to the ground" (over the bumpers) It starts looking too "busy"-to me, and in a more traditional sense, "back in the day"-they weren't run all the way down the bumpers..

Re: Where should I stop and start my Black Stripes

Not true. Granted the cars had chrome bumpers. The 60s mustangs had stripes from the bottom of the front bumper to the bottom of the rear bumper. Cause it had painted trim pieces under the chrome bumpers.

Now GM cars started their stripes just off the front edge of the hood and ended them just off the rear edge of the trunk. GM also didn't put stripes on the roof like Ford did and GM put 1/4 in pin stripes on the outside edges of their rally stripes and Ford didn't.

I myself have stripes starting at the bottom of my front bumper over my roof and ending at the bottom of my trunk lid. I stopped there b/c I have a blackout panel on my trunk and I don't like how the stripes look when they go around the hole in the rear bumper for the lic plate.
I also put pin stripes on the outsides of my stripes just to be different.

Re: Where should I stop and start my Black Stripes

I want to stripe my '10 to look similar to the '70 Boss 302. I was asking the guy who is going to stripe it if the stripe should go past the rear tire, like they did in '70. He said, "no", but the point here is that I took pictures of my car, uploaded them on my computer and used Adobe Photo Shop to "paint" the stripes on my car to see what they would look like and where I wanted them. It would give you an idea of what the difference would look like.

Re: Where should I stop and start my Black Stripes

I personally like the stripes starting at the hood the best. I think the stripes that start at the front bumper pull your eyes down and distracts you away from the rest of the car.
But it's your car and your choice!
