Engine Noise

My 2010 GT sounds almost like detonation when the windows are up but mostly normal with the windows down, I think the piped in sound of the engine just increases normal noises but I am not sure, has anyone else noticed this. Uasually under load or sometimes hard throttle

Re: Engine Noise

its one of those things I would have to be there in person to guess on. is it giving off any code? the ecu's on the new ones are pretty good about fussing about even small stuff. if its not giving any code I wouldnt bother. ....but then again im not right there to hear it.

Re: Engine Noise

No codes showing and the car does not do anything else wrong. since I bought it I have driven it with the windows down until a couple of weeks ago and that is when I noticed the noise.

Re: Engine Noise

You may just be hearing the "power pipe"-connected to the intake hose. Throttle "noise" would sound different with the windows up-than with them down. Once you are in a 'sealed' cabin-all of the nuances form within, and under the hood are going to have different reasonance(s), than with the windows down. If you don't have any codes showing, and it runs and drives nice-'fuhget about it' . Don't fix it, if it isn't broken.
Now go have fun.. !

Re: Engine Noise

Take it to the dealer and have the serivce advisor, or the tech drive the car, or ride with you to see if they can notice it.

Re: Engine Noise

Without hearing it I can't really help with pinpointing it, but try running a higher octane gas, see if any of the noises go away.. Never know
