Time to buy

Hey guys. First post here for me. I have been a Ford guy for a long time. But always a big SUV. On the third expy now, but it is time for a trade an I think I want something fun. So I am looking at a GT loaded up with the electronics package and the whole nine. I am also looking at pulling in the brake package as well as the ground effects to resemble the v6 DUB edition.

Just looking for any suggestions, dos and donts etc.

I look forward to any suggestions. Also around the exhaust as I want the neighborhood to know I am coming

Re: Time to buy

There is a huge difference in power-between the old 4.6L -and the new 'Copperhead' 5.0L
There are recent posts from folks that are either in the process of exhaust mods-or they have 'already finished', and have passed along their results/impressions, on this Forum-feel free to browse, or "search", for tons of information.. (`Coming out of an Expedition-you will probably "not know how to act" -at least for a little while!)

Cant go wrong. Wait for a clearance California special. It's closest looking to the dub. Add your own brake kit. Cs's on eBay for 31k.

I'd definitely go with the GT Performance Brake Upgrade from factory, well worth the money and parts are supper cheap for an OEM part (rotor etc...)

Re: Time to buy

welcome

Which model are you looking to buy? 2010's can be had for a deal but you're getting the smaller or less powerful engines. If you can spring for 2011 GT do it, haven't heard a bad thing yet. The '11 V6's aren't bad either, the new 3.7 is a great engine with plenty of power and decent mpgs.

Many thanks for all the great feedback. Actually drove the GT today for the first time. Couldn't believe it. I am going with black on black, front fascia with the side ground effects(killing the name), Roush exhaust and the normal lower wing. Really fell in love with it today. And know I won't know how to act from the expi to the GT. I have a feeling I will be giving the state of Alabama some ticket money .

Again I really appreciate all the feedback and look forward to future chats and info.
