2011 GT

I got a new 2011 grabber blue GT with a 6 speed manual. If anyone is wondering these cars are super fast. So fast they are scary. Ford says they have 412 hp, but I had mine dyno'd stock with a K&N air filter at 440 hp. We have had a little snow here in KY and it handles it great. Ford has finally got it right!!! Unless they are mustang fans a lot of people don't know how fast these cars actually are.... You should see the faces on the people that try to race. Being that my car is grabber blue I would like to know what everyone thinks about putting white rally stripes on it.

Re: 2011 GT

WOW Gster I am glad you like your 2011 GT I am still waiting approval from the bank for my 2011GT white Cali Special (CS). I hope mine dynos as much as yours when I mod it. Didn't feel fast enough for me. Is it true that there is a sport mode with these newer gt cars, if so how do you activate it, maybe I needed to do just that. And oh I really wanted a grabber blue like yours, that is my favorite mustang color. It would be nice with black or dark gray stripes instead of white. It would be even nicer if you could get a carbon fibre look stripe for your gt. There is a business on my work route that makes posters, wraps for vehicles and so on , I am going to ask them to make me a carbon fibre stripe for my 2011 plus gt, just to be original. Does your car push you back in the seat in a violent manner :, does it feel like your in a human catapult literally.

Re: 2011 GT

The first 2011 gt I test drove from Tasca ford in Rhode Island felt faster than the one I test drove yesterday, also the one from Tasca pushed 5th gear very easily, when I tried this with the white CS yesterday it felt like the 5th gear in my current 2007, which has 5 spd and 3.55 rear end, some 2011 have 3.55s not 3.73s maybe that was the difference between the 2 I drove. Looks like I may get stuck with a 3.55 geared cs gt. It is written in some tests on line that some 2011 gt 5.0s may have as much as 435 to 440 crank hp so this is possible.

Re: 2011 GT

Most 2011 gt's are dynoing at 360+ which means 435 or so crank. I highly doubt that the OP's car pulled 440 whp with just a k&n drop in. There are guys pulling 418-435 with Axelbacks OR X,CAI & TUNE. Lets see that dyno sheet.

Motor trend dyno'd their gt with just a k&n and got 435 hp. Check it out on you tube. 5 hp more isn't much.

My stomach goes in the trunk every time I punch. My father in law has a GTR and he was really impressed and disappointed that his car was about $50,000.00 more, but I think the GTR would take mine because it is all wheel drive. Not to mention turbo charged.

You weren't specific on which it was to begin with so that's were the confusion is.

I had to promise my wife I wouldn't tinker with it for awhile. This is my 4th mustang that I've had in my life and all I wanted to do with them is keep bolting on more horse power. So in order to get it I promised her I would leave it alone. Besides the first year of anything if you keep it stock and hang on to it will be worth more....at least that's what I keep telling myself. Lol.

Re: 2011 GT

Be sure these numbers are coming from 4th gear pulls too. Alot of guys were hyping up the numbers in the begginning by doing 3rd gear pulls which is not a 1:1 ratio

Also, don't be upset by lower numbers in different areas. Always remember Distance from Sea Level, Humidity, Temp, Type of Dyno, and plenty of other variables can affect the output.

Are these Numbers SAE Corrected or adjusted in anyway? (To the OP) What mods does the car have and which rear end gear ratio?

Wat mods do you have? I want a reaaally good exhaust and i was planning in getting the borla ATAK but it costs $1800 for the cat-back exhaust alone. Not to mention shipping and instalation. Plus headers later on. Wats your setup? Any suggestions?

Well 4th is not a 1 to 1 either. 5th gear us in a 2011 5.0.

Re: 2011 GT

The 2011s need to be pulled in 5th gear. 360-370whp is the norm for these cars when pulled in 5th.

I just have a Borla Stinger Catback, JLT cold air intake, Supercharger pulley change (2.93 vs 3.65), and a tune for 93 octane.

The borla is a good exhaust and good quality, but its differnet on 05+ vs mine as mine has the mufflers up under the back seat area vs yours being at the rear of the car.

Yeah borlas sound incredible. I was supposed to get a 2011 but ordered too late so im getting a 2012 now. I just hope the 2011 borla atak exhaust fits the 2012. They said the only thing that changed is the options. I gotta contact borla and find out. Ill post back here when i find out for other 2012 owners.

Shouldn't be any issues. The car hasn't really changed.
