mustang shifter boot removal?

Is there an easy way to remove the boot for my shifter(Premimum trim knob)? I would like to sew a cashmere trim line in it to match the rest of the interior trim(black/cash).

Thanks,
Dave

Re: mustang shifter boot removal?

Its probably fused somehow to the underside and will have to be carefully removed (or un-carfully lol). As far as attaching a new one I know they do it but not sure how. On the older ones little plastic things slide through holes in the base of the shifter boot and they melted the plastic to hold it in place... thus you had to mess it up to remove it.
