Billet Fuel Door

As anyone installed a Billet Fuel Door for the 2011 capless fuel door (by Silverhorse racing). How easy / difficult ? How does it look with the door open?

Yes, I put mine in last week . They give you a new gasket to install around the nozzle which gives it a finished look. It is vert tight going on so be patient.

Re: Billet Fuel Door

I kind of feel the same way about breaking up the paint. Ford should have made the door a bit smaller. However, I have a silver car so I don't think the impact will be as extreme.

As to the capless system it still has a "pressure cap" on the stock door. That is why I want to see how this was addressed with the Silverhorse door.

Another thought would be leave the stock door, and replace the HUGE rear "faux" door with a nicer looking Billet "faux" door.

Re: Billet Fuel Door

I received more details from Silverhorse. Although the Ford fuel door is capless, the fuel door and the plastic housing around the fuel entry pipe look like it makes a seal.

The instructions from Silverhorse show the door not having the same type of pressure plate that is on the Ford door.

At Silverhorse, they tell me it works just fine.

Too bad you cannot upload PDFs on this site.

I agree-since the car is Silver -this will look nice. Be sure after the install to upload those 'before' and 'after', images!

Re: Billet Fuel Door

The stock fuel door has nothing to do with the pressurized cap system. The cap is located in the fill itself, which is spring loaded, and released when the gas nozzle is inserted . Silverhorse gives you a new rubber gasket which holds the fill firmly in place after you remove the factory plastic housing.
