2011 GT/shelby

Hey everyone... i have a question... first off i have an 05 v6 and want to get an 11 5.0 or earlier shelby but i am curious about 2 things... first off how much roughly would it be to get an automatic tranny for the shelby... now i know what some of you are going to say, thats a sin but i want the power but don't want the traffic issues and stuff and plus i have the ratchet shifter for the o5 and love it and want to get another one but it only works for automatics. so if i get the auto tranny i can get the ratchet shifter... if i deem it being a waste of money, and want to get the 5.0 GT i will definitely get an auto tranny with that but would want to get a ratchet shifter for that one. but my question for the GT is, i know they make the TCI streetfighter for 05-09 but do they make them for 10 and 11s?? if anyone knows the answer to either of these questions please let me know!! thanks!

By the time you converted it I'm sure there would be a pretty steep price tag, stick to the GT

Re: 2011 GT/shelby

Purchasing a 'built' transmission-to be able to handle the power-would cost 4500-6000.00 + any labor. Get the `11 5.0 GT with the AOD.

thats what i was going to say $ 5 to 6 grand , Probably have to go with a Lightning trans to hold up to the torque of the gt500

Not a stock lightning transmission it definitely won't hold the power

Re: 2011 GT/shelby

upfront costs probably 4-6k maybe more it depends on which trans and all that is needed, plus if you want it to hold X amount of power.

the down the road cost is the value is droped as its been modified with a diff transmission than came in it so it will lose value, plus most never want an auto in the shelby unless for medical reasons.

Finally, I wouldnt do it, its not bad. IF you have no medical reason why you cant shift its NOT bad at all. Everyone told me I would HATE a manual... but I loved it more and more every day traffic or not lol... plus its faster, more fun to drive, and has more hp/tq due to it (faster in stock form vs stock auto etc)
