My first mod!

I just purchased quarter window louvers from AM for my 2010 v6 mustang! I know it's not a huge deal or anything, but it's my first mod since purchasing the car and I feel like this will be the start of something. I'm looking at some shorty headers, a BBK cai, and some tints (windows and taillights) right now. I'm going to try to get tints done within the month. But the headers and CAI probably won't happen for over a year because I don't have the money right now and I'm going to college next year (won't have my car for freshman year).

Re: My first mod!

I've been so hesitant to mod my car for two reasons.
1) I'm not gonna have it for a full year next year. My brother might take it who is 16, irresponsible, unorganized, and extremely dirty. I'm afraid he's going to **** it up and I don't want to waste my money if that does happen.
2) It's a V6 and I really want a V8. That's not going to happen for a while though unless I get one used. If my brother ****s up my car, I'm going to get a used 2010 GT convertible. I already have it planned. Haha

I know what you mean, my little sister has to drive my car when she gets her permitt because my dads is a stick and my moms is to big.... It's also burning antifreeze so I don't feel like investing only to have it blow up on me

It begins. I am a mod junkie now. Just wait buddy. Soon you will be up late looking at parts. Surfing all the clasifieds for that awesome deal. Pooling up change just to get that cool new part. There should be a support group for this addiction

I thought that's what this was? I agree though, the hardest thing is going from a car you mod to sh** then getting a car that you don't want to touch, but it itches so damn bad wanting to mod it!

I'm a mod junkie already...just haven't purchased anything. Haha. I have over 50 favorited tabs for mustang parts I'm interested in buying. And I spend days searching for the cheapest prices for each part (even thought I probably won't buy it). I don't have a credit card so everything has to go through my parents first. And my mom doesn't let me get anything even if I pay for it. I sneaked $200 into my dad's hands and told him to check his e-mail (with the link to the louvers I want). So he bought them

Congrats on the new louvers - I was wondering if they come pre-painted or if you have to get them painted yourself.

I've always considered them just never gotten around to buying them. Sounds like an easy mod, I think all you need to do is use 3M tape right?

Pre-painted. Got them on AM for $200.

Yup. Judging from the installation guide on AM that seems to be the case. Well and i'd have the clean my car and the louvers before applying them.

I look at the same damn parts every day just waiting for the 15th (payday lol). Saved every penny cept for insurance on my car since I've been gone and I'm about to go "buck" wild on my car haha $-)

Congrats on popping the mod cherry!! It all starts with one little part then it turns into wheels and tires then an intake with some other goodies. Then next thing you know your changing all kinds of things ending up with a totally different car. This bug never stops the infection once you have been bitten. I can testify to that!!!

Re: My first mod!

What's next? A pedestal style spoiler for the rear or a new chin spoiler for the front? Can you say early 70’s look. Might want to look for parts that will swap over to your next car easy after your brother has his way.
And so the next mod and brother dilemma goes on.
Have fun

I'm content with my spoiler for now. Probably side scoops, a rear window louver, or a chin spoiler.
