mgp caliper covers

Ok so I have a 2011 pony package and I was wondering will the mgp caliper covers fit with the 18 in. Polished aluminum wheels that are part of the pony package?

Re: mgp caliper covers

You might want to consider cleaning and painting them with a high temp paint. Only real hassel is bleading the brakes if you take the calipers off the car.
Stock wheels are 17" and you are at 18", that gives you an extra 1/2" clearance. From what I have seen on the internet, they are not all that thick.

I thought of painting them but I wanted the smooth look not the rough look of the stock calipers. Thanks.

Re: mgp caliper covers

The caliper cover site says they will fit but they DON'T I have them on my car and sure there fine until one quarter inch span on the very inside edge that rubs every so often. This only occurs when they side slightly out of place from fast turning or high speeds. I complained and they sent me some glue to fix the problem. This was with the 18'' Pony Package Rims.

If you have any questions let me know I'm happy to help.

I have to add that despite the trouble I love the look and would go through it all again.

Re: mgp caliper covers

Since you don't like the rough texture, look around for high temp epoxy filler. Do a light coat over the surface after sanding. Sand smooth and paint. Take your time and you should get a very smooth surface. Be aware that filler and paint will act like insulation and not allow the calipers to cool as effectively.

Re: mgp caliper covers

My .02 : I ordered a set of these, from American Muscle for my `08 GT. I had not yet installed my 18" wheels. I could not make these fit -and wound up sending them back for a credit...
