I don't think it would be 500 whp cause they go off of crank HP, so the 415 HP they say the 2011 is only like 375 HP which is amazing but still not 400 HP don't get me wrong I love mustangs and always will, just hope they could bring back the 351 5.8 and shut more people up cause all those guys with GTO's and Camaro's run the 5.7 and even 6.0, so maybe someday they can drop that in because there is NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT! !!

Well you can do that with a 4.6 too NA, just how much money do you want to spend? You can put heads, cans, bigger throttle body, cold air intake, go all out and get 500 just costs money?

4.6 is only good for about 400rwhp NA and thats with a ton of internal work as well, not just heads, cams and so on. Ask Matt D over on S197forums,hes done it and is moving on to the 2011.

Well maybe that's why I decided to go with a Saleen supercharger and other mods and with only a 6 psi of boost I'm at 410 rwhp and I have a built engine to handle more so I could get more HP with a pulley? But I do agree there is no replacement for displacement? But you could just get 4.56 gears and kick *** on the track and pull 9's? All about gearing?

Well my 11 5.0 made 400 to the wheels with just bolt ons - exhaust , intake , tune - many many 5.0 s are higher than that with off road X pipes ( no cats ) . that there is supercharged 4.6 power ! No jokes I would consider a trade up from 10 to 11 5.0 a good deal if the numbers were right $ - I traded in my 2000 GT with gobs of bolt ons and the difference is HUGE .

Re: 2010 to 2011

Just bought a new 2010 in late January 2011. Candy Red/5spd/3.73/19's/convenience-alarm/Premium. $4500 rebates & Z plan...$25k. The 2011 was tempting with the $1500 rebate, but with the upped base price of the 2011..it just didn't make sense even though I wanted the 5.0. My 315 will take care of me....3.73 will help! Price Ruled the Day. What sucks is I have only put 4 miles on it...waiting for snow to finally LEAVE.

The 5.0 are very impressive with just bolt ons but all the mods you mention won't touch a 3v on 10psi,that's 450+whp. But I would still rather have the 5.0......just my 2 cents.

The 5.0 on just 9 psi puts out 624whp with no additional mods

I understand that, the 5.0 with a blower is a absolute beast. But a 5.0 with those minor bolt ons you mentioned won't touch a 3V on boost.

There are no recalls on the 2011 stands. Maybe a few TSBs, but that's it.

A tsb is a "technical service bulletin" meant to aid technicians of how to repair common problems. Not a free repair always. Only a guide.
There are special policies also. Repairs that may be performed for free or discounted rates after the warranty period has expired due to common problems to avoid class actions.
Hope this helps. TTT
TSBs focus on a specific sympton/repair. As stated you guys are mostly correct. TSBs are covered under the basic warranty and sometimes under other warranties. TSBs are usually a sign of a symptom a customer 'may experience'. TSBs do not always apply as do Recalls. They are Vin specific. Just becuase one 08 GT has this recall does not mean that other 08 GT will have the same recall. Recalls are mostly safety concerns that must be corrected or the company may face legal problems.

That is clearly up for decision based on boost amounts and bolt-on mods.

Hopefully he's talking about the GT-H or the 68 or people that just have "Shelby" written in chrome on their rear bumper

Re: 2010 to 2011

500rwhp on the 2011 5.0L is impressive but it came at the cost of building the motor pretty much~ still a great engine no doubt. If I didnt have my 03 cobra I would consider a 5.0, but probably hold out for a GT500 due to the modability vs the 5.0.

I removed some posts that were getting out of hand. Stop the smack talk, have a nice discussion we wont allow it to get out of hand. No need to reply back to this just get back on topic and leave the hate somewhere else.

I was actually going to say the same thing, I'm not trying to cause problems or make anyone mad just stating my opinion in what I like, but there is alot of good for the 2010 and 2011, I like my car and I wouldn't trade it in for a 2011 just to get the new 5.0? Its a great car but I would stay with your 2010 and build it up, instead of taking a hit trading it in?

What was your final outcome with trying to trade your 2010 in for a 2011? I was thinking of doing the same but haven't had much luck.

Ya, same issue here. Went to multiple dealerships and got the bottom of the barrel in trade-in cost. I would be out $5K. Still going to try some angles, but I think like you said, probably just best to ride it out for a bit. By then a 2011 or 2012 should be doable.

672 rwhp / 529 rwtq with a Procharger P-1SC Stage 2 Supercharger System making 9 psi on 93 Octane Pump Gas.

Supporting mods to make this number :

BBR 3" Off Road X-pipe
Roush Axle-Back Exhaust System
BBR Xtreme 93 Tune
3.73 Gears

Pretty basic supporting mods....I wouldnt even call them supporting because they are so common.

What is this on? A new 302? The new 302 puts out about 360 rwhp and your claiming 300+ more hp from a 9lb blower and exhaust. Whatever that tune is, it's NOT safe, it cant be to get those ridiculous numbers.

93 is everywhere here in TX.The reason i ask about S197 is because you have to be a member to view anything....like this thread about the car I quoted.I usually bounce from there to here.Join up,there are some interesting reads and they dont play around when it comes to HP.
