if they are not through the clear coat they can be buffed out possibly, can you catch them on your finger nail? If so they are to deep most likely to buff out and you will have to touch them up, buff them out to smooth the area. Probably wont be able to notice... that or paint the rear bumper.

Re: Scratches need help

Do a search on youtube for scratch repair or buffing out scratches. You will find all sorts of helpful advice. Be aware that by the time you pay for all of the items you will need it will almost (or exceed) the cost of having a professional do it. I would get some quotes from a body shop and a detail shop. Most detail shops can do it cheaper than a body shop if it is not through the clear coat. Good luck.

BTW this is one of the reasons I was looking at a clear bra, but never considered the back quarter. About where on the quarter are the scratches?

Re: Scratches need help

if you can feel the groove with your fingernail its probably to deep to buff out~ you can start by cleaning the area to see what is paint from the other car vs your car. A pro can buff those out pretty good if they are buffable so you can find a local detailer that has a good reputation (not some shade tree person that is a friend of a friend etc)

Re: Scratches need help

you can try that stuff but its only for faint scratches, not ones like you seem to have. Its always best to try the least abrasive things and work your way down~ I would talk to a prodetailer though and if they say it cant be buffed out you can have it touched up then buffed over to smooth the color transition.
