Re: 4.6L exhaust question? Stock or Not?

This is what the exhaust on my 2010 GT Premium looks like:

I didn't buy the car new but I'm pretty sure this is the stock exhaust. I didn't see any labels on it to indicate otherwise.

The picture of the 2010 Base Mustang (no Premium Package) in the following link looks to have similar tips: Click Here

I don't know for sure if these are stock or not but they look very similar to mine...

Re: 4.6L exhaust question? Stock or Not?

The pic of the 2010 exhaust looks like the Ford Racing Mufflers I have, Smoke, your pictures and description are just like my stock GT 2005 mufflers...

The more I look around on the internet at 2010 GT's, the more I see tips that look like what I've got.. Like you said, rounded and chrome looking.

At a minimum, I don't think you have the stock tips. I'm curious to see what the mufflers look like though...

Re: 4.6L exhaust question? Stock or Not?

You are right, I haven't seen any 2010 GT with this style tip. They resemble the earlier 05/09 model stock muffler...

Oil. K there is no point in getting a synthetic oil if your not going to go with an extended drain interval. And royal purple is a good oil but not the best oil you can buy. Amsoil sso line 0w30 is the best oil on the market. And if you use an amsoil filter it will go 25k of casual driving before it needs to be changed. If you beat the crap out of your car amsoil will go 15k,no other oil on the market can withstand that kind of service life. So no rp isn't the best, however it is good oil and it is a "true" synthetic made from synthetic basestocks. It also contains moly which from my experience and experiments is a great friction reducer. Red-line also contains moly and is a "true" synthetic. Many oils are advertised as synthetics because they meet regulatory guidelines. Mobil 1 for example,it meets the governments definition of synthetic however it's made from a group 3 hydrocracked basestock which is actually Dino oil. Group 4 and 5 basestocks are real synthetics made from synthetic basestocks. Red-line,Amsoil and RP are all group 4......

Re: 4.6L exhaust question? Stock or Not?

Looks like a Flowmaster muffler with that bump next to the tip. A lot of their mufflers look that way. Here is a pic of the 40 series:

Looks almost like the tip was welded on after the fact... maybe by the shop that did the install.
