F&@$ u insurance company

I just got raped in the wallet. My insurance just DOUBLED on my GT500. I just got off the phone with them, they told me it doubled because my vehicle was so new they didn't have the correct numbers for it. The quoted me a policy by price of the vehicle and not what it would be to fix it so, they say. Now that they have their "correct" numbers...BOOM DOUBLE POLICY!!!! If they quoted me on price. Doesn't it stand to reason that a 55,000 dollar car is going to cost a bit to fix. I'm so freaking pissed right now. Aaaarrrgggghhhhh

This was my first 6 month policy with this company. I left my prior insurance company to whom I was a customer for 10+ years because when I purchased my vehicle they had quoted some crazy number. Now it doesn't seem that crazy. I guess all insurance companies are thieves, even when you think you've found a decent one.

But you risk losing it all without it... We had about $45,000 damage to our cars and the house three years ago July and without insurance, I would be driving a beater...

You want high insurance costs, move to NJ. I pay $175/month for a 2010 GT Premium. My car cost less than 1/2 the price of his. I'm also over 40 with a clean record...

What sucks in this story is the fact that the insurance co gave him an incorrect quote and then nailed him after he switched. I would have cancelled my policy immediately and started shopping again...

My policy with the old rate is paid up thru may 4th after that the new jacked up policy will start. If I can find a cheaper policy before May 5th, I'm out of there.

Ha...privatized insurance is legal theft. Here in Saskatchewan they insure the car,so every person pays the same insurance on each model. Driving record is irrelevant. A 16 year old kid who has same car as I pays the same insurance. It's government run here. My insurance on my mustang yearly is 650 bucks. In Ontario with private insurance on this same car is over 3 grand.

Re: F&@$ u insurance company

I think I pay about 60.00/month.
I know that this is a 'hindsight' type statement, but-I have found it helpful to investigate -through, getting a quotation-what the flippin' rate is gonna "be"-prior to pulling the trigger. Is this wrong??

Read the very first post ... The company increased it AFTER they quoted him a lower price...

You got to pay for it, pay to use it, and then your rates are higher after you use it. Daily dose of BS!!

I've had the policy for 5 months now. I've been pay 77.00 a month. It's a 6 month policy, when the renew policy came in, it was no 978.00 for 6 months. My first 6 months was 483.00. The representative told me that this is a common practice. When I was "investigating" on insurance rates, some were telling me they could only quote me on the highest price GT because they had no info on a Shelby. I didn't go with any of them and I still got screwed.

Mercy . Is there no justice anymore ? I have the name and number of an independent agent, who is hooked up with ? 20 or so insurance companies-although I don't know if he is only licensed in Texas... He could shop that for ya-perhaps?.. P/M me and I will give you his name/number!

Re: F&@$ u insurance company

i would shop around right now, no telling how much cheaper it can be as 163 is WAY to high.

My 03 cobra back when it was 3 years old was only 70 a month full coverage (250/250 deductibles) and I was under 25 AND not married.... (clean record though).

Only reason it would be that bad is if you are in a town that has bad ratings etc etc
