MT-82 transmission issues

Looks like it's time to drop the Chinese built transmission

It sounds like it has real issues...

Re: MT-82 transmission issues

I'd still like to get a new one but I'd likely wait for a 2012 model.

Re: MT-82 transmission issues

I would not be surprised to see the full manual to go away when the next generation of Mustang is released... I'm seeing a twin clutch computer controlled 6 speed with floppy paddles in Mustang's future... At least as a high end option...

Re: MT-82 transmission issues

Wouldn't it? I think a lot of Mustang enthusiasts will probably be dead set against it, but it would be a great option for Shelby Cobra's and similar tuner models...

Re: MT-82 transmission issues

I think you are right Beav, even though I much rather have a traditional manual shift. As for the current issue I hope they have it worked out in the 2012 cars.

Re: MT-82 transmission issues

As far as fuel economy goes it seems that the automatic has caught up with the manual. I hear that in the next Honda Civic a manual is only offered in the Si model and even Lamborghini isn't going to offer traditional manuals anymore.

I read that this only affects cars built before April 25th of 2010, at least that's what the TSB says.

Hope I don't get this issue!

Where can I find the build date on my car?

Only prob with mine is a slight grind when I shift from 1st to 2nd. Driven it 5k miles and took it fairly easy on it to be honest.
