Question 2010 GT Car Alarm Goes Off Unexpectedly

This concerns my wife's 6 month old 2010 GT Coupe Premium, 4.6 V-8, with only 2300 miles. Last night, around 11pm, the car's alarm suddenly went off. The car is parked in our locked and fenced driveway (8' chain link fence and sliding locking gate). Nobody can get into the area without the motion detectors picking up movement. They did not go off. Nobody was around the area so I used the key fob and reset the alarm. I went back to bed and at 3am was awakened by the car alarm going off again. I again went outside and turned the alarm off. This is the first time it has occurred. Is there a logical explanation as to what happened so I can correct it so it does not happen again? Thanks.

at shows and events many leave the windows rolled down but turn the alarm on... if you even walk by it they can go off... not sure if it can do the same thing with the windows up and maybe the wind blowing? Perhaps a cat was on it etc?

I know my alarm is pretty sensitive to things especially if the window is even slightly cracked......it's also possible that somebody walking by would throw rocks or something at it to make it go off.....but not likely...

Well, the wind had been blowing some (don't know the MPH); no cats around as we have three bow wows (ferocious weenie dogs). As I stated earlier, this was a first time thing and the alarm has not repeated itself, so maybe it was a freak of nature (or Ford). Thanks for ya'lls replies.

Re: 2010 GT Car Alarm Goes Off Unexpectedly

This happened to my T-Bird when I had it, the alarm would go off so many times and afterward it would stop...everyday. Also, the door ajar light was on and never went off. Turns out, the pin that is spring loaded (have no clue on specific name) on the frame of the pax side that detects when the door is open and closed was bad. Just had to replace it and both problems solved.

Thanks for the info; I'll let you know if it occurs again, taking into consideration weather, temp, and anything else which may cause the problem.

Same thing happens with my 2008 Bullitt all the time. I haven't figured out how to fix it yet. The local Ford dealer service technicians can't figure out how to fix it either. Let me know please if you find a solution, and I'll do likewise.

That is definitely an inconvenient problem. I would take it into the shop and see what the tech's can figure out about it. Problem a bad sensor that is faulting and causing the alarm to sound
