New 5.0

Well for those of you that didn't know. I sold my 95 yesterday and just literally bought a Red 2012 5.0. I am just about to order a tuner, full exhaust system and a cold air. I have a pro charger to put on it but that won't be for a few months. This car is quite a bit slower then my 95 but it's brand spanking new a wayyyyyy more reliable.

Re: New 5.0

You will never be able to go back to the older interior after this. The interior is the only thing that stopped me from getting into a Terminator even though I still drool over them and one day I will pick one up.

You can get 780 rwhp with a P1 head unit and boss intake, otherwise stock motor, even on stock exhaust manifolds.

Has anyone really figured out the breaking point yet?

I would say that's well past the breaking point!

However, I don't know of a single supercharged coyote that has blown up due to boost. There is one that had an electrical problem and blew a hole in the piston, and there have been some nitrous fed ones that have blown. There are many in the 650+ range that get raced and driven a good bit, but I'm pretty sure they are on the ragged edge. It's just a matter of time before they start going.

It does exist, but I don't think there is a link to it. Feel free to call Chris at Blow By Racing. It's his car.

Not due to boost. He was using o2 extensions from one of his sponsors that had a design flaw which caused the car to detonate. He was only running about 7psi at the time. Much less than many others including myself. The new cars live off their wideband and when you mess with that you are done. O2 extensions aren't required anyways!
