Question Has anyone considered painting the black trim?

I have thought about the possibility of painting the textured black plastic trim, both on the lower part of the front valance and below the back bumper exhaust surround. Any experience(s)/ feedback would be appreciated.

Thought about it but I like the looks of the carbon fiber replacements so I'll be going with them.

You can get the CDC prepainted that adds a lot rear I wouldn't want painted due to tires kicking rubber and debris onto it

Re: Has anyone considered painting the black trim?

i think it would look great being painted but i'm sure it would have to be done a special way to not have problems with the paint being it is textured plastic

Re: Has anyone considered painting the black trim?

Ive seen them painted all the way around (even side skirts) on a Kona blue and it looks great!

@ FRB, Why would you think it would attract more rock chips than any other car that is painted in that manner?

I had the plastic painted on the bottom of my wife's SHO. Looks 1,000 times better. Had it done at the dealership, the guys said the only tough part was sanding everything down. Took them 2 days. I can post some pics if you guys want but it's not a mustang so it still won't give you and idea of how it looks on a stang.

Agreed-but, please post`em anyway . I figure that most people have NOT done this, although like myself, may have contemplated it-and realize, to your point, that alot of the paintjob/process would be in the 'correct preparation, for maximum bonding'.. !

I also prefer the cs/boss 302 front end but it's kind of a hassle to install you have to completely remove the front bumper. The CDC double side tape and 4 screws and push pins

Thank you, Sir! That looks great-and it appears that they did a nice job! I've noticed that American Muscle makes no provision (with their painted-to match parts)for replacing the rear exhaust pipe surround, with a p-to-m, type replacement.. I really don't think I'm the only one who has thought of doing this. Surely.

Re: Has anyone considered painting the black trim?

Wow. Thanks, Dan .That looks pretty bada$$. I also liked the styling on the black car-better than the look of the Kona Blue car at the dealer(from poloka:Thanks ) It looked like it had been lowered, painted, 20" wheels, KR hood/lower valance?

My dads neighbor just got a CS recently and its white with the rockers, rear and CDC chin spoiler all painted to match the white... It's probably the cleanest looking 5.0 I have ever seen

Finally got over there to take a pic, dude wasn't home so I didn't get a whole lot (none of the front) which has the CDC chin spoiler also painted white.

Here you can see the stock sides and rear, looks bad *** IMO

That makes the car look sooooooo, much better. It should be an option from ford so we don't all have to go out and get it done. That is one of the advantages to a black car is the plastic isn't that noticeable, well from a distance.

Yeah but I've seen it on black too (YouTube vids) and it looks just as awesome lol. Yeah I'm not sure what ford was thinking on this one...
