Like to go with what is on the Cobra but is that a 4.0 L whipple? What was the first SC upgrade? Just wondering if the 5.0 can handle what the 5.4 was taking. I plan to drive the car as a daily driver and don't plan to abuse it on a track. Want the more HP for the fun factor.

the 5.0 cant handle anywhere near what the GT500 or 03/04 cobra can. It can take some abuse but you cant really push it super hard. I would say for a daily driver keep it at 8psi so when its cold out you have wiggle room as you will be making more boost then~ you want a margin for error.

That will put you at a great hp/tq level a your higher compression makes more hp/tq per boost than say my car or a GT500 it just cant take nearly the abuse (20+psi)

That level on a root blower would get you what, 550rwhp on a conservative 91 tune? Also no need to go with the biggest blower out there either.

I believe Stupidfast is running 10psi on a procharger with a conservative tune putting out 600 plus at the wheels, maybe he can chime back in and verify the specs/cost, I think it's a daily driver too... If that's right then that's probably the setup I would go with

Re: Roush or SVT?

600rwhp on 10 psi seems very high but then again the compression is VERY high on those cars so who knows.

Coyotes actually make close to 650 at 10 psi on pump gas. I made 600 (my goal) with only 15* of timing and running out of fuel.

I talked to whipple and they said for the 2011 I can get their 2.3L which running 8 psi would give me 624 at the fly. Yeah 600 RWHP would be the goal if I go that extreme. And that was a safe tune.

Overly safe/conservative to keep it down to 600 whp. Only running 15* of final timing. I have a race tune also

Get a good tune and you shouldn't need another one when you get ready to up the boost. Just a pulley swap and the car handles the rest. If you want to run 550+ rwhp, you will need a BAP. If you want 600+ you need 60-75 lb injectors.

Edit:
I personally wouldn't run a daily driver with a PD blower at 600+ hp. You are on borrowed time if you do.

Defiantly appreciate the comments and suggestions. You're probably right on the tune. The first stage is tuned for pump 87/89 and the second was for 91+. Both come with 45lb/hr injectors which I'd stick with. 500+ RWHP will be nice. And probably where I'll stay so the car lasts.

Now for the stupid question. What is a BAP?

It's a boost-a-pump. You won't need it with the "624" kit and it should put you in the 560ish range with a dyno tune.

Re: Roush or SVT?

nice numbers for sure, I assumed they wouldnt last with the high compression and boost, but hopefully I am wrong and they are very reliable. Time will tell.
