Re: TINTS Yes or No?

It looks great! Good call. I hope you checked state laws. In Texas, legal's now 25%. My 11 was already tinted. I thought 35., almost had 20 put on. Then saw this law. Sure glad I stuck with my 29. What it tested to.

Re: TINTS Yes or No?

In Texas: TxDPS - Window Tinting Standards
25%, or 'higher' is the standard. light emission allowed, on front windows, to the left and right of the driver...!

Same here in AR.. Although I have 15% all the way around.. Never had any trouble.. But I work at a tint shop so not a big deal if I ever do.. It's mostly state troopers that we gotta worry about.. They're the only ones with tint meters..

We also have had to redo 30-40 vehicles in the last year or so due to tickets or warnings.. The state troopers just got their tint meters a lil over a year ago so they cracked down real hard at first.. Haven't dine one in a while though...

Re: TINTS Yes or No?

I've already been 'through that ordeal' , with my old `98 extended cab, F150, I used to own..I made the 'mistake', of insisting that the tint guys, 'match' the privacy glass, on the back of the cab . When it came time for my inspection, and they metered the light emission-and it was 'too dark'-they wouldn't go any further , and told me "I needed to lighten the two front windows-or it would continue, not passing." I lucked out at a second inspection station, when I left the windows down, upon arrival. The inspector, never rolled them up!

Re: TINTS Yes or No?

I finally broke down and got mine tinted today.I have been back and forth on this since i bought the car a couple months ago.
Last Mustang i had,i did 20%,In my state the law is 30%.The LEO's never hassled me but i just didn't care for how dark it was, felt like i was driving around in a cave.
I looked at some 30% and decided to give it a go.I like it so much better than the 20%.Found a really experienced installer, been doing it 15 years, who did the one piece back window and gave me a written warranty for life.He used SunGard brand film and it looks great. He went all way up the glass really close to edge so it looks like factory tint.I paid $120
I just been worried about the window going up and down a bit every time i open and close my door.He said it isn't ideal but something that can't be helped.
You never realize how many times you roll your windows up and down til you can't roll them up and down! Lol
