Buying a new 2012, My second GT ?

Hi all new to the forum here I'll first start of buy saying I'm new here. In January I bought a 2010 new left over Mustang GT that lasted me 6 hours after picking it up from the dealer, result was from a drunk driver putting me into the wall and my new GT was no more. At the time I was looking at that new 2010 they had a black one there that has been sitting for 3 weeks or so, so I was going to buy that one next and then the dealer sold it the next day so I thought maybe this is the time not to buy a Mustang ? I ended up buying a 2011 Toyota Prerunner TSS Sport Tacoma witch is really nice but I still can not stop thinking about that Mustang I had. Anyways I'm hoping to trade my truck in for a 2012 GT and try this again what can I expect dealers to take of the retail price and the other thing is I'm looking at a GT Premium and the wheels are now 18", my 2010 had 19" wheels why the change ? Any other buying tips ?

Thanks....

They do have optional 19" wheels. I have the Brembo brake package which I highly recommend. That package comes with 19" wheels, Brembo front brakes and 3.73 gears. Go online and build one from the Ford website. That will give you a better idea.

Gotta quote Ludacris on this one: "Me n' my homies, rollin' on 20's"

Re: Buying a new 2012, My second GT ?

Price is really going to depend on the options. My GT had 18s and 3.73's. I didn't want brembo's as I would rip them off so could fit smaller wheels for the track anyway.

I got my dealer to come down about 1500 on price of the car plus they had like 750 rebate.

Fully loaded with 19s, brembo's, 3.73's, synch, fancy speaker lights, leather you will pay close to 36-38k depending on dealer.

Also do you plan on a auto or manual? do you plan to track the car any? Mod it any? Also why not look for a left over 2011? They are out there.

I would go with a 6 speed but I can not find any 2011 left overs in my area

yea you can possibly find a 2011 with rebates, nothing really changed other than color options.

Not to be a smartass but the auto is a 6 speed also...

But I am assuming you met manual..

Just do some research on the issues with manuals and you might change your mind and get a auto.

The new 2012 stangs have a lot of good options and a lot more stock HP I wish I could afford to get a 2012 GT.

If you can wait, I'd hold off a few weeks as a few GTs are ending up on the lots with low miles as a few who've garage queens are upgrading to the 302. I got mine with low miles as the owner was excited with the 2012 GT500 and decided to trade up. My dealer has seen a few 2011's come on the lot and go quickly cause low miles and someone's already taken the hit on depreciation. But I wonder how long the dealer markup will last on the 302 until the buyers come out of the weeds. Good luck in finding your new ride.

This is divine intervention... You should have had a 5.0 all along. Or a Toyota, which ever way you look at it

Re: Buying a new 2012, My second GT ?

Update here the dealer I was working with would not work with me. I had a 2011 Toyota Tacoma TSS Sport Series that I had paid $24000 something for this past January and they would only give me $22500 for it and a not so great intrest rate. So i drove around town and there were no other mustangs in my area so I stopped by my local Chevy dealer to just look at the new Camaro SS and next thing I know there giving me $25000. for my truck and discounting a 2011 SS with the #2SS Package. This thing is fully loaded even with the heads up display 20" wheels with Brembo brakes on all 4 wheels 275/40 series tires all leather any ways now I own a SS, please no bashing.

At $22,500 they were showing a little more than they are actually giving you. At $25,000 they are showing you way more than they are giving you. Sit down and do the math one day and you will see how you got screwed.

Other than that, enjoy the new car, they are very nice!

So, you think they actually "paid" 25,000 for a used truck that they could go buy brand new, at full retail price, at the toyota dealership for $24,000 "something"?
