wierd rattling

so I still haven't got my exhaust re-torqued since I had it installed and I keep hearing a rattling sound from the engine compartment. hopefully its just my headers or x pipe loose or something... also since I swapped out my jon lund"cam" tune to the regular lund street tune, it randomly stalls out sometimes, especially if I'm driving WOT or for long periods of time.... I'm thinking it may be the tune or maybe its an idle issue. any thoughts? thanks guys

also forgot to mention it only stalls when I'm coming to a stop...its a manual and ill put it in neutral and slow down, when it gets down to idle rpm it sometimes idles too low and stalls :-/. starts right back up its just annoying

I don't wish problems on anyone . I feel for ya, man. It's this kind of 'issue', that keeps me pretty happy with the way the car is 'tuned', from the factory . I realize that other members have had great luck/results from a re-tune/calibration, but...YIKES!

Re: wierd rattling

You will have to find the rattles on your own but the car is stalling because of a ****ty toon. Call your tuner and he should fix it for you. Mail order tunes suck, regardless of the tuners reputation.

I'm thinking I'm gonna get a professional tune at a dyno soon....but first...find the noise source. I'm pretty sure its just my headers coming loose and in need of a torque...i can only hope.

Re: wierd rattling

Re: wierd rattling

I'd check the exhaust, make sure it's all tight again.

As for the tune, the stalling could be b/c of not going through the proper adaptive learning curve once you install the tune.

The idle is commanded different than from factory (typically)
So, this is what is needed to be done...For anyone, not just you.

Install the tune. Then allow for the car to sit and idle for 10 minutes with the A/C off. Once the 10 minute mark is met, then turn the A/C on and allow for the car to idle for an additional 3-5 minutes. Then after that time frame, turn the car off and back on. Then drive the car in stop and go conditions for 100-150 miles.

That is the proper adaptive learning process for these cars. Do that and see what happens.
