Was this an option when you ordered the car?

No, I have read some articles online and I understand that FMC has a supercharger available that when installed by a qualified dealer the vehicle is still covered by factory warranty.

just make sure you get that in writing and I'm pretty sure that they will only allow u to use certain makes of superchargers for it to still be under warantee so I would check with them. But all and all when its done it should cost 6 to 8 grand. But I would just have fun with the stock car for a bit and then when u get that feeling for some modifications then get it done. U will stasy happier for a longer amount of time that way. Just my two cents.

Agreed^, at least have some time to learn the car first man. You don't want it to be so powerful that you can't enjoy it. After 450 rwhp from a tune and full bolt ons gets boring go from there. Enjoy the new car!

Our dealer won't install it. And I doubt they will warranty it. Your engine is not designed for a supercharger.

Kind of a j-hole move when Ford stopped doing SC's after the 03 and 04 SVT Terminators. There are purists out there who will pay top dollar to get this equipment as an option with their vehicles.

Whipple is about the only SC a Ford dealer will install and I believe the warranty will cover the SC unit. I would imagine you would be looking at closer to $10k vs $6-8 like mentioned above. Ford is not gonna warranty a KB,vortech ect....

I looked at them (Cobras) in 04 while I was in the Army. Sticker was $39k for one in Ft Myers, Florida... much less than the GT500's are today.

Before I bought my 2011 I was looking at another dealer and they also told me that they would install a s/c and keep the factory warranty.. As far as I can tell it really just depends on the dealer.. Ford racing has a 525 hp and 624 hp s/c for 2011... I assume everything is exactly the same on a '12

I think that's probably a safe assumption. Getting the dealer to actually honor the warranty if you have issues is a whole different issue to keep in mind, too. A sales rep and a dealership GM both live and die by their sales numbers. The service manager or the dealership owner are the ones who will ultimately make the call. Be sure you get something in writing.

The blower is $7,000. Installation will be around $3,500.

You will have $10k+ invested in a 470 rwhp car.

Supercharger: 6500.-8500, depending on size, and manufacturer. Labor: 127.00/ hour~1100.00 for about 8 hours. If the techs at the shop-selected to do this install by the magazine(s)-can do it, in 3-4 hours.....? The local boys may still 'charge' the 8 hours, ish.

Did you even read the thread?

He can only use a frpp blower so its only one price and you have to buy it from them.

The dealership charges close to $1100 to install gears, so yeah....going to be a little higher than that.

What a maroon... Why do you feel that you need to be the "voice of dissension", anyway-sowing the seeds of discord? Did you "make" yourself the 'jello sheriff', or just decide on your own, to 'assume' the position?
If I shop for my own FRPP supercharger, and get it installed at a given dealer-the amount of labor will probably vary. That's all I'm saying.

Same setup. Only the 524 keeps the factory warrantee. The 625 does not.

One other thing. When you are out of warrantee and may want to upgrade the new pulley to get 625 HP is $115 and the Ford tune is $150.

When out of warranty why stop with the 625hp pulley. And why stay with the lame Ford tune. Get teh 700hp pulley, and a real dyno tune.

Yeah my point exactly! There's no doubt that automatics are great at the track... they are just boring to drive. I don't know about you all, but I like to drive my car everywhere, every single time I turn the key!

If you start pushing that much what's the engine's lifespan shorted by? Guess you'd have to start beefing up internals before you throw something and blow the engine.
