Best CAI??

I have a 2011 5.0 manual and was curious which is the best overall CAI to go with? I plan on adding the new Boss intake before I do the CAI so I also want to make sure that they will work together. thanks

Haha, it just appears that way. After running through the I/C, un-boosted IAT's are always the same as ambient. You are lucky to get within 20* of ambient with a CAI.

I have jlt carbon fiber with the Bama tune. I love it, however I think if you add the intake you might need a specific CAI like the Steeda setup?

Well the boss intake bolts up to the factory CAI.. So it should work with about any of them.. I'm leaning towards a c&l but wanna know which puts out the most power..

Well than how about this, combine the other thread and this one in reference to your tune. Buy the JLT w/ tuner with free unlimited tunes from American muscle, get the free 3 tunes and give them your mods. Call it a an easy fix

Yeah I realize that, I would put that one up for sale and make the package purchase. The one you have doesn't seem like it has anything on it other than to clear codes and set wheel size?

The sf3 comes with preloaded tunes and the option of doing custom tuning..

I understand that, I was in the same boat you are. I had the tuner with basic tunes, but no tuner around here to do a dyno tune. My only choice was to contact someone and have them send a tune by email. So I sold the sf3 with the basic tunes and got the combo kit. That way every mod I get I can just send in the info and get an updated tune rather than paying each time I change something. Bottom line I like the JLT but I bought it for appearance over the others.

I guess, depending on the tune your using and who made it. I never put my car on a dyno so I don't know how many mine had on the preloaded tunes versus the 93 race tune I have now from BAMA.

Well not to discourage you but judging by other threads you want to make several changes to your car to make more power. Your best bang for the buck if you don't have a buddy that can tune for you is don't get a custom tune until your finished modding or buy a CAI w/ tuner and unlimited tunes.

So if I were to get an o/r xpipe and use my sf3 to turn the code that it throws off my car should run properly and see some gains? Just not the full potential that I would get w a custom tune right?

Re: Best CAI??

I've tested the JLT, Steeda and Airaid on my 2011 and all picked up the same power. Within 1 HP of eachother.

It's going to come down to tuning. I have BBR do my tuning and I picked up 43 RWHP with a Steeda CAI and a BBR Xtreme 93 Tune.

Those BBR tunes ain't no joke! I've been thinking of ordering one along with a OR X.

Re: Best CAI??

I would go with the Steeda boss combo with tune. I should be picking this up at the end of the month if all goes well.
