And for a manual car the 3.90's have shown to be the best for this tranny for drag racing. Combined with a 28" DR or Slick. It keep you in 4th gear and in the upper rpms. 3.73's keep you in 4th gear but lower in the rpms. 4.10's on the other hand have you shifting to 5th.

Now since you already have 3.73's You will not want to move to a diff gear since you want a blower. You most likely will want to go with a 3.55 once you get a blower. Use the Money you was going to spend on gears and get a clutch and flywheel.
Dang I have 3.73s and redline in fourth passing the 1/4mile traps

I have an sf3 that I got through work w no custom programming At the moment but you can go to a cold air intake section on the tuner and it has several diff ones preprogrammed in there already... trying to sell it though so I can buy one from AM and get free tunes.. Nobody w sct software anywhere around here that I know of.. But I'm in pretty well w the guys at the dealership.. I know the service manager and F&I guy.. And my mom worked there several years ago..

WHat size tire? Stock tires? with a 26" slick I had to shift to 5th with 3.73's. Buddy used a 28" slick/DR and he was able to stay in 4th with his car being tuned and red line of 7400. He was crossing traps right at 7300. With a 27.6 DR and a redline of 7800 I was able to stay in 4th with bad air with the 4.10s. But doing the math it will need 5th gear with 4.10's and some good air. The 3.90's keep you higher up in the rpms and let you still stay in 4th going threw the tarps. Even in good air.

As I mentioned. If you plan on a blower do not go steeper with your gears. As the higher you go 1st gear gets shorter and shorter. I am already shifting out of 1st gear by the 60ft.

Well I still have the brembo 19s and 255/40s. so that could be part of it.. Also had traction issuses so that may also have somethin to do with it..

Yeah, if you have someone offering to buy it for what you can buy a new one for from AM then go for it. It just seems to me that anyone else would follow the same logic if buying it from you at "full price."

True ... but don't most people buy a SF3/X3 to load custom tunes, from the internet? That aside, I have a hard time knowingly ripping people off, but as long as you can sleep at night then go for it.

I agree. It will be hard finding some one wanting to pay full price for a hand held. When they can get one with 3 tunes in it that are better tunes the the SCT comes with.

Not to mention not to many people don't knwo to search around on the internet anymore. What 1 out of 10000.

It's not a rip off considering my boss quoted the tuner for $500+.... If everybody bought everything from the Internet then accessory shops like ours wouldnt be in business..

People like to have someone there that can help them in person for problems they might encounter.. And they will pay mire to have that.. If your not planning on doin much modding theres nothing wrong w what I have.. I KNOW there are pretty decent power gains w the preloaded tunes from experience.. No not as much as a custom tune.. But I plan on modding more so I will need a custom tune eventually.. This kid might put exhaust on his car.. Possibly a cold air intake.. And that's about it..

Check your PM I sent you in regards to a custom tune.

With a cold air it will still be better to maximize the potential. If your going to spend the money on exhaust and cold air why not have the best tune as well?

Re: 373 gear estimate

best is subjective, sometimes not as good is safer, it depends on the setup as well and timing, a/f etc etc~ I have less timing in my car currently. Not as much power but its safer.

If your referring to me then I do plan on getting a custom tune eventually.. As soon as i sell the tuner I have now.. As far as the kid I'm trying to sell it to.. He's not a gear head mustang freak like all of us.. Hes not gonna be modding much.. He's never gonna notice or care about 5-10 hp diff or whatever it may be
