I agree yet disagree.. The GT500 has some work in it. It has forged internals already and will handle a lot more power then the 5.0. It also just got a aluminum block for 2011. With unknown changes coming in 2013 to compete with the ZL1 camaro which will be 580hp/552tq it better have some balls. Also the Camaro will have an auto with launch control. That is going to blow the GT500 out the water. It also has a hell of a suspension. This car was built to handle like the Boss Leguna Seca Edition.

The new GT500 will have over 600hp but what other changes will be made is the question.

And if for some reason they don't go threw with changes. Well just watch them get there butts handed to them by GM. Just like the Fbody SS's used to do.

OH on supercharger...Roush/KB/Whiple in that order for a Roots/screw blower...

Procharger/paxton/vortech for centri's.

I know exactly what ur saying but this is the conversation I had with my boy. The 5.0 and 5.4 are apples to oranges, but if u take a 5.0 put all forged internals, equaling those found in the gt500, motor for motor the 5.0 is a better one. Does that make more sense?

I still love old school stuf but u should hear my boy talk about pushrods lol

Yes and no. If you would lower the compression ratio of the 5.0 to actually handle the power 5.4 can handle. Then they are even playing field. Or raise the 5.4 to the same as the 5.0. You change the compression on the 5,0 and it makes less power. Specially lower it down to 9.5:1. Look at what maybe 30hp loss or more.
