Caliper covers

Does anyone have the MGP caliper covers? I'm curious to what they look like installed... I have a race red GT premium with aftermarket wheels w/o Brembo... Im thinking of getting the red ones but don't know if they look too bulky or weird

I don't have them but did see them on an '10 at a performance shop here. At a distance they look good but once you start to get closer they look kinda cheesy IMO. I like old fashion paint.

Yea that's the thing I'm trying to keep my car as original as possible I don't wanna start painting things... Worst case I dont like them and just take them off, but I wanna see someone who has them to be sure... They're like $200 and I spent enough this past month on the car

What he said. Just paint them. It is cheaper and look a lot better.

They look cheap and tacky. Defiantly not worth the money

Re: Caliper covers

I agree...at a distance they look good, especially the red ones, but once you get closer and see the fake rivets and the huge glossy face on both sides of the spoke, eh I'd just paint them...you can always remove the paint on your calipers if you really wanted to.

Re: Caliper covers

I had them on my 2011 V6 and will put them on my 2012 5.0. Here is a pic with them on the 2011 V6.

I think they are worth the money and they cut down on the brake dust.

I've been considering painting mine this winter. Recently I've been considering getting them powder coated, but I suspect that would be labor intensive since you would have to disassemble the caliper and reassemble it (no idea how to do that lol).

Re: Caliper covers

I sent off for them-when I had my `08 GT. I could NOT make them work. I sent them back to AM, for a refund. After seeing a video on painting the calipers, and how easy it is-that's the way I'm going. Do something else with the $.
