Good to be Back in a Stang !!!!

Hey all, Got my 12 GT Premo Black/Black 6sp Brembo 373s about 4 weeks ago. I grew up with Stangs, heck my dad is the OG owner of a 67 GT500 so its in my blood. For that last 8 yrs I have been driving Infinitis, Acuras, and Lexus. My last ride a Lexus IS350 super modedd was beautiful but i need some american HP back in my life. So far I have lowered it on K Springs, tinted windows, 67 Side Scoops, Elanor Grill, Hushpower axel back, 20" Foose Speed Wheels and a few little things. I look forward to modding the crap out of this thing. It will be my DD but I am going to do everything i can to make it mean. Like i said ive been out of the mustang community for a long time so if you have any mod suggestions let me know. Also I have found a Mustang shop (Delk Performance) here in nashville if anyone know anything about the place id love to hear about it. Look forward to getting info from this forum........

Here are a few quick pics of how she looks at the moment...

Re: Good to be Back in a Stang !!!!

Nice car those are the same rims I have been planning on ordering. They look great on the stangs. As far as mods go I would recommend a cold air intake, long tube headers, o/r xpipe or high flow cats w/ xpipe, cat back or axle backs, boss 302 intake manifold, sct tuner with custom dyno tune or u could go canned tune from bama, BBR, Lund. Maybe better throttle body, of course there's superchargers too! It all depends on u and what u like.

Re: Good to be Back in a Stang !!!!

I would ask what you want to do with car. Drag race on the track. If so what you want to run ET wise. Have a street machine? If so what cars you looking to be able to beat? Horsepower goals? Answer those and we can talk mods. What to get where to get it. ETC ETC

They look very good on your car as well. But now there is two I seen with them. I would not get them. I have some others picked out.

I hate being the same. Its bad enough we have mustangs. Cause every onbe has them. They are the tuner of the muscle world. Which is fine by me. I just like to try to make mine look different.

Oh they look better on black. But I am bias.

I hear u dude, I like to be unique as well... I live in jersey and believe it or not, it's rare to find a 10+ mustang... I guess nobody likes them here, I rarely see a mustang... Which makes me even happier with my choice, cuz I'm the dude with the new body stang... Camaro's are all over the place over here tho lol, which is cool too cuz I love all cars,

Re: Good to be Back in a Stang !!!!

As i being to mod i know as so goes a lot of the warranty. With my lexus they were cool with fixing anything that happened , so long as the aftermarket part did not do the damage. So say my radio blew and I had aftermarket headers. Is this the same stance Ford takes?

They do look awesome on a lex. But not so much on the stang. That's why I didn't keep them. Go to vossenwheels.com. There are some pics of stangs. I was gonna upgrade to a isf but didn't wanna spend 50-60k. Plus there aren't a lot of performance mods for them

Would the 700 horse power kit work with stock externals? It's 9.5 lbs of boost only, I got 10lbs on my car now

The 700HP kit will be fine. Figure in a manual car that is about 640ish to the wheels. You will want a upgraded clutch though.

Nah with the 700hp kit you will be fine on the stock internals. Even then when you upgrade you can always go to the Boss internals. A lot cheaper and stronger then stock ones.

Re: Good to be Back in a Stang !!!!

D1SC Stg II dyno numbers

I finally got my car dyno tuned Saturday. I have a D1SC Stage II with 4.38" pulley. It was supposed to make 9 psi and somewhere around 560/570 rwhp. I told the tuner to pull it to 7000 or 7200 and we would decide afterwards if we should pull it any higher. Imagine my surprise after driving the car for 3 or 4 weeks and 5 passes at the local 1/8 mile track and then I find out the real numbers. 653.9 rwhp @ 6950 and 12.8 psi boost pressure on 93 octane. The boost even climbed a little higher after he let off the button ending the pull. There's no doubt it would make more power if I pulled it higher, but I didn't want to take any chances. Max timing commanded at WOT was 16.5, pull only saw 15.5. IAT's started at 82.4 and ended at 102.2

And who says you can't run 12psi...LOL

Ah got it now that brings up a question I have is the boost of a centri and roots style different at the same amount of boost? Ie a roots style is across the power band and a centri kicks in after 3 grand so with that in mind does that mean that it is easier on an engine because it only kicks in after that.

Not necessary. But it is easier on the drive train. Also You can get a Centri to launch just like a roots style with a stall. The Centri builds boost as RMPS go up so it is easier on the engine and drive train. But it also makes a little less TQ but puts out a little more power per LB. Plus Centri rob less power to make power. Now turbo's rob the least cause unlike superchargers they are not belt driven at all.

I look at this way if high HP 700whp+ is your end goal go with a Centri or Turbo. If you want less then that go with a roots/TVS.
